Edited the commanders with more info:
Commanders

Army of Virginia: (***General N. P. Banks=Recruiting officer, Slow mover=) - Fishbreath

Army of the Potomac:
20 Corps, III Divison(*General Phil Kearny=Cav, Reckless=) - elitetaco3519
20 corps, II Divison(*General Joseph B. Hooker=Good admin=) - RedKing

1 star = brigade
2 star = division
3 star = corps+

I feel like putting Banks in Washington sometime, he recruits new units free in large cities with his recruitment officer skill. But I can't, hes one of the highest ranked commanders in the field XD

Skills:
Reckless - less chance to disengage from battle early.
Recruit officer - Free recruits when in large cities.
Slow mover - Slow at manoevering the army.
Cav commander - Good at commanding cavalry.

Also....

Recruited a bunch of volunteers.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The Army of the Potomac moves to spread out in a defensive line up to Banks' Corps and prepare for Confederate attack.

Late March

Recruited a Bunch of Regular infantry.
=Battle of Hampton= in the James peninsular, Garrison Union forces pushed back to Fort Monroe by Confederate advance by General Macgruder.
The army of the Potomac is preparing to ferry the 4 corps of troops down to Fort Monroe, Confederate forces are encamped at Winchester and Banks' troops in Harpers Ferry with a another army corps from the Potomac army as reinforcement. We have a strong defensive line, and the Peninsular campaign will begin soon.
General Phil Kearny was promoted to a two star general. I gave him command of the army corps he was in replacing the fail General Heintzelman.

Early April

Confederate forces have defeated a small union detatchment outside Fort Monroe, Union General Smith has been killed in the fighting.
6930 new soldiers have arrived by train in washington this turn to be deployed to armies.

Early May

Kearny's Corps climb aboard transport ships headed for Ft Monroe, the first troops to reinforce the Peninsular.
2 Corps under Erasmus Keys and Mcdowell are transfered from the Army of the Potomac to The Army of Virginia(Banks).
Some Cavalry and artillery units raised.
13,000 Fresh recruits are now in Washington, they will be shipped to the peninsular to reinforce the Corps once all are there.

Jackson's force raided the army of the Potomac down south with 7000 men, he was defeated by General McClellans army and lost 2029  men. We however also lost 1230 men. A bloody day, but a Victory, the first major victory of the war, and against Thomas Jackson. The Army is hailed for the victory by the people!

Late May

General Fitzjohn Porter is moving to engage Jacksons force at Fredericksburg, to ensure the safe ferrying of troops to Fort Monroe.
At the James peninsular, General Kearny is about to engage Confederate general Magruder and drive him from his siege of Fort Monroe.
Kearny advanced on the rebel positions, only to find they had vacated the field. Magruder wont be caught that easily it seems.
2 more Corps arrive and shortly behind follows the Army of the Potomac HQ with General McClellan. The 3 Corps are marching north west towards Richmond, hopefully to victory.
Jackson is Holed up in Fredericksberg under siege by General Fitzjohn.

Early June

Kearny led attacks up the James peninsular, defeating the Confederates at the battle of . Marching north he found the Confederates dug in around Seven Pines crossroads, after a bloody battle assaulting their positions the 3 Union corps withdrew from the field, having lost 2220 men. The Confederates lost 2290.
The Union press have railed on Kearny for being too aggressive and losing the battle of Seven Pines.
22,000 volunteers and regular units are being ferried down to fort monroe to reinforce the armies.

Late June

In the Peninsular, now under the direct command of McClellan the Union forces attacked again. In the second battle of Seven Pines 25,412 Union soldiers with 122 cannons assaulted the fortifications after a massive artillery bombardment. This time the Confederates turned and fled, the cannons had battered the formations before they even got to charge.

3923 confederates were killed or captured, for a loss of only 430 Union soldiers. HURRAH FOR THE UNION, AND FOR GENERAL McClellan!! In the battle we captured 8000 enemy rifles and took 2000 prisoners.

Onto Richmond.

Early July

Macgruder turned north and attacked General Fitzjohn Porter with 13,543 men, driving him from Fredericksberg. We lost 2152 men in the battle, but Magruder lost 3013.

Lincoln orders McClellan to attack, he refuses to advance fearing the enemy is too numerous to defeat. The army is exausted after the recent battles.
Thousands of troops arrive at fort monroe to reinforce the armies, General John Sedgewick musters a new division from 10,000 volunteers and patriots.

A small confederate raiding force raids philidelphia, General Fremont is sent to drive them off.

Early September

Banks takes winchester, the small CSA garrison surrendered to him.

McClellans troops assault dug in confederates again, suffering huge casualties and utterly failing to break them. It seems the Confederates wont be defeated through the peninsular and will hold on.

General John. F. Reynolds arrives with a new volunteer division to McClellans army.

Late September

General Fremont continues to fight raiders in the north, they stubbornly resist.

Early October

Union troops at Winchester under Banks are defeated by Robert E. Lee's division and driven back.

Late October

Nathanial P. Banks HQ was attacked in the previous battle and largely destroyed, it will take some time to organise a new staff. Until this is ready Banks is withdrawn to Philidelphia to work as a recruitment officer.

Lincoln (me) orders the withdrawl of the army of the Potomac from the James Peninsular, McClellan wont attack and Washington is getting more at risk from attack.

National draft is issued, and the first coloured troops are being put into Uniform.

Lincoln issues the Emancipation proclaimation: All slaves in states currently under rebellion are now and forever free.

http://freeaudio.org/alincoln/emacipationproclamation.mp3

Late November

Generals Fitzjohn and porter manage to clear out the Seven Pines area of confederate forts, but too late. The army has already been withdrawn to Baltimore to fight there. Winter is comming and most troops are settling into winter quarters and preparing for the battles of 1863 to come.

Early December

Harpers ferry falls to confederate troops. We will get it back when the snow leaves.

Late December

A new Union army corps is formed under General George G. Meade.

Late February

Nathanial P. Banks returns to Washington in preperation for the 1863 Campaign against the Confederacy.

I'll post some screens and info soon, the next year of campaign is about to begin and the size of our army is increasing hugely.

Observe the tactics.

This basicly happened in the battle where our McClellan attacked in the Peninsular, we lost like 8000 men to a few hundred confederates.
