Wasn't the "Jaffa Cakes aren't a cake" thing a conspiracy theory about them being marketed as cakes to avoid luxury goods taxes or somesuch? Or do I have that the wrong way round?

And yeah, chocolate biscuits are subject to luxury tax whilst chocolate cakes are not, so McVities had to prove that Jaffa Cakes were really cakes.
