Restraints stay connected after deconstruction

Restraints will stay attached to a creature if a creature is attached to it after the restraint has been deconstructed.  It seems quite bizarre that dwarves wouldn't detach the creatures from the restraint before removing it from its anchor!  However, you can get the restraints back from butchering the animal.

Interesting. Can you assign the free chained animal to another chain? Can the animal breed while it has chains attached? Maybe if you attach enough chains to your animals you could make them move slow enough that you don't need to chain them to keep them all in one room...

You could always build it out of spider silk, although I suppose it weighs less...

We had a thread about this early.  It relates to how chain releasing traps was supposed to work (the chain remained on the animal after you pull the lever), but it uses the code in too many places, and you should be able to reclaim the chain in any case.
