Won't take the damn thread.

Why won't my possessed badass militia commander take thread because he's possessed? he's asking for it, and i have it.....WHY WONT HE TAKE IT.

I am conflicted whether to give you the (too) easily searchable answer, or just telling you here.

Hell - this thread's here so I might as well. He might be requesting silk, wool, OR plant thread. Make sure you have all 3.

I had this issue too.

Essentially, thread comes in different sorts, pigtail, silk, yarn, yeah? So what he may be asking for is a different sort of thread. Try to get a variety of threads and see if that helps.

I once had some pig-tail thread that my weaver wouldn't turn into cloth. I've never had this confirmed, but my theory at the time was that my hospital had used some of it for stitching, leaving an incomplete piece of thread in the stockpile. Maybe something like that happened to you?

The thing about moods is that they never require thread, only cloth. Even if they say cloth... thread..., they mean cloth.

ahhh, the only cloth i dont have is silk. i have over 300 silk threads...but when i command silk cloth to be made, i get "needs 15000" announcement....so, why are they not making the GODDAMN SILK

Because probably all the silk is reserved for the hospital. Try undesignating your hospital for the time being.

IIRC hospitals have this bug where they immediately take all the thread you have if they ever drop below the amount they're supposed to have on hand.

i figured it out (in time thank god).

the stocks screen reported that i had a large amount of cave spider silk threads. upon shifting modes, i saw that these threads were not threads, but uncollected webs. i collected one, spun some silk, and got a friggin millstone. awesome. at least i didn't have to deal with a legendary militia commander with a named sword beserking.
