Vampire: New Colony, New Bloodline

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Tearful goodbyes were the theme at the Earth IIV Planetwide Shuttle Port. The poor hauled their meager belongings onto rundown transit craft, each seemingly held together with prayer and duct tape. The rich and middle-class bartered, buying and selling draft tickets in hopes of getting out of colonist duty or leaving with loved ones to avoid splitting up families. In geosynconised orbit above the port sat the Colony Ship Duskbolt, a run down domed urban area sitting ontop of a massive engine block and life support system.

When the tyranical King of the Planet ordered the settling of a new planet he dreamed of starting an empire, but little did he know of the inconvienence he caused to the shadow empires that already existed on his world and amoungst his people. Three vamperic bloodlines maintained a presence on Earth IIV, and none had the resources on planet to seriously support a new colony. Each, however, feared the others gaining influence aboard the colony ship aquiring greater numbers and power.

Hoping to hash the issue out the three 1st generation vampire descentants who held power on Earth IIV got together and invoked the Dark God for guideance and binding advice. To their surprise and dismay the diety mandated that a progenitor for a new bloodline be created to inherit the new colony.

That progenitor is you...

Character & Bloodline Creation:

My full name and Gender is...

Before I was tapped to start a vampire bloodline I...A: I was groomed to become a powerful vampire for most of my adult life. (You draw greater benifit from your bloodline's strengths)
B: I was a holy man/woman. (You are hindered less by your bloodline's weakness)
C: I was a humble worker, toiling away on behalf of the King. (You have more pratical skills)
D: I was a soldier. (You are proficient with many artificial weapons and great in a fight)

My bloodline will reproduce...A: Like Vermin (Every mortal your bloodline feeds upon becomes a vampire. This leads to overpopulation and the ire of other bloodlines)
B: When mortals consume our blood (Turning mortals is exausting, but you have greater control over population size)
C: Through Traumatic Mutation (The transformation process is long and painful. New vampires are more powerful, but lose most of their humanity)
D: Through Blood Pact (Can only turn willing mortals. Mortals will be less fearful and more accepting of your bloodline)

The powers of my bloodline are...(Propose any powers you wish. I will pick 1-3 and an equal number of weaknesses)

The weaknesses of my bloodline are...(Propose any weaknesses you wish. I will pick 1-3 and an equal number of powers)

New powers and weaknesses will be obtained throughtout the game...

Sounds interesting!

Female
Name: Carnelia Nekratos
I was groomed to become a powerful vampire for most of my adult life.
My bloodline will reproduce when mortals consume our blood. (or traumatic mutation)

Powers: high regenerative ability, possibility to transform at will between human/warghulf (sorta like of half wolf/ half bat/ 100% BIG MONSTER.) and any mix between these two (10%/90%, 50/50, 80/20 etc...), and above all POWER TO RAISE AND CONTROL THE DEADS MWAHAHA

Weaknesses: Silver. It make our blood BOIL. Holy places weaken us, and so do great sunlight. The Red Thirst also constantly threaten to permanently transform us into bloodthirsty beasts if we dont resist. We are no longer human, but monsters barely keeping this form.

My full name and Gender is...
Countessa Camilla Von Nekratos
Female

Before I was tapped to start a vampire bloodline I...
A: I was groomed to become a powerful vampire for most of my adult life. (You draw greater benifit from your bloodline's strengths)

My bloodline will reproduce...
D: Through Blood Pact (Can only turn willing mortals. Mortals will be less fearful and more accepting of your bloodline)

The powers of my bloodline are...
1. Endless Night: A powerful profane ritual that blacks our natural light in an area, for a length of time dependent on the strength, number and power of the Vampire who are doing the invocation. Requires a number of rare reagents.
2. Shapestealing: Given an hour, A vampire can perfectly copy the corpse of any Human who has died within the last year. The Corpse is destroyed in the process.
3. Memory Feeding: Mortals who are fed upon impart a degree of the skills and memories they retained at the time-these memories and skills fade after about a month.
4. Regeneration: A well fed Vampire can repair wounds to itself to an amazing degree-but it requires a good deal of energy.
5. Glammer: The Ability for a Vampire to appear invisible to Human perception-note, they still exist, and can still be detected through technology and other animals.
6. Spirit Feast: The stronger feelings of despair, hatred and misery exist in an area with a Vampire, the stronger it grows in every way. Alternatively, faith, love and joy weaken it-though not to the same degree...

The weaknesses of my bloodline are...
1. Sanctified Oils: The oil itself is harmless, but if lit afire, the vampire will rapidly combust into a fine white ash.
2. Ashwood: Can pierce the Vampires flesh and heart-to end it's life for good.
3. Dead Mans Blood: The Blood of human who has been dead at least 24 hours is like poison to a Vampire-not killing, but severely weakening them.
4. Dirt from a Saints Grave: Loosely a Saint can mean anyone who died in heroic and tragic circumstances, resisting Evil Vampires. It is a powerful weapon that can melt their flesh on contact, but it can only be used so many times before the residual energy from that grave is depleted.
5. Beheading/Body Destruction/Heart Pierce: *gurk*
6. Memories of the past life: Vampires confronted with objects and persons from their past life are profoundly affected-in affect, restoring their Humanity to the point where they might destroy themselves, or turn against their brother and sister vampires if they were demoralized enough beforehand.

"Mistress, are you awake?"

You open your eyes and find your vision blurry. You are in a plush and well furnished room, on a couch. Next to you is a delicate lady clad in a humble gray dress. Her arm is in your mouth and her blood runs down your throat giving you strength. You feel cold.

"You are awake... at least for now. They said that you will be unstable... passing in and out of consciousness for the next day or three."

You remove the arm from your mouth to speak, but it snags on your fangs causing the woman to shriek... fangs... you have fangs. "I have been turned? That wasn't supposed to happen for another year or so. Where is the progenitor? Please tell me I am a first generation descendant! I'm too well trained to be street blooded riffraff!"

Your vision begins to clear and you get a better look at the person beside you. Her face is pointed and wiskers extend from her nose. She has two huge front teeth. Your training in all things vampire kick in and you quickly identify her as a Ratline, a kind of vampire that was once quite powerful prevalent in the galaxy but were nearly wiped out and now serve as servants to powerful vampires. The Ratline are unique amongst vampire kind in that their blood is edible to other vampires... a fatal weakness that spelled their doom as a free and sovereign undead people.

"Yes you have been turned Mistriss, and no you are not a first generation descendant..."

"DAMMIT!" you roar and spring to your feet! "I spent 7 years in training! I learned everything there is to know about vampirekind! I was scheduled to meet the damn progenitor next month. WHO DID THIS TO ME? I DEMAND TO KNOW WHO YOUR MASTER IS VERM-"

You crumple to the ground, suddenly too weak to speak or move. The Ratline helps you back to the couch and puts her arm back in your mouth. "Shhhh... You are my mistress. Now listen carefully and feed, I think you are going to pass back out soon, so try hard to remember this. You have been chosen by God to form a new bloodline, you ARE the damn progenitor. You are aboard a colony ship and the voyage will last for several years. With any luck, the new world will be yours to rule from the shadows."

You instinctively begin to draw blood from the Ratline, unsure weather or not to believe her words. She continues to talk as you feed. "The Bloodlines present on Earth IIV have a small presence aboard. They are poorly supported and they don't want to risk God's wrath by attacking you so soon after your conception, but they will be building up numbers. You are on good terms with one of them, right?"

"...Yeah." You manage to say between gulps of blood. "They groomed me... for something like this."

With those words, all sensation leaves your body, save for the feel of blood running down your throat...

...

You come to on the couch again. You feel whole, complete, and most importantly powerful. The Ratline lies on the floor, pale and weak from loss of blood. "I pulled my arm out when I felt the end was near." She explains. "I'm not sure if I deserve the honor of dying in the arms of a bloodline progenitor. You should be fine now, but if you feel you need a bit more blood to stableize there are 3 more vermin handmaidens and 4 eunuchs in this apartment to attend to you... of course you could do me the honor of taking my last pint or two..."

Blushface

Get her to say this or something like it:

"Your time is not done yet, and besides, you are not worthy to die by my fangs just yet. You shall recover for later use. Now leave!."

After shooing the handmaiden away, look at your slaves. Put on some discreet clothing and head upstairs via the elevator.

Railbone or Blushface, either one is good.

Dismis our drained servant, dress ourself in suitable clothing, and check through all our stuff (i.e. Have our servants do it for us). Tell them to eliminate all sources of fire from our abode, and leave to scout out the slums.

Blushface.
We should look into starting a cult devoted to ethier us or our god, we need recruits after all if we are to have a bloodline.
The poor conditions aboard the Duskbolt should make it fertile ground for such things.

You look over the pitiful servant before you. "Not yet. Death at the fangs of a progenitor is something to be earned. Now run along..."

The poor Ratline tries to get up and leave but stumbles back to the ground, you shake your head and call out for the other servants she mentioned. They quickly assemble and enter the room. "Take her back to her quarters for now." you command. Two of the Eunuch's drag her off and return several minutes later.

You look the wretched vermin over, trying to determine what if any skills they bring to the table as individuals, but you fail to figure anything out. The Ratline are self loathing creatures who would never willingly admit that they may be superior to their master in some insignificant area. You remember however that Ratline servants are generaly trained to aid in domestic chores, and the Eunuchs likely have *some* hunting skills. You have however heard stories of Ratline handmaidens being bested in combat by pre-pubescent humans...

You listen as one of the Handmaidens lists off your supplies and assets, before declaring that you are getting dressed and heading outside. The servants quickly help you strip down, give you a sponge bath (Running water cuts through Ratline Vampires like a knife through butter), and help you into a standard black jumpsuit with the name Duskbolt plastered across the back. You have much more eloborate outfits avaible to you, but decide to play it safe until you can come to terms with the mortal fashion sense aboard this ship.

In the elevator you quickly find and press the street level button: The G forces hit you like a hammer as you are suddenly propelled upwards. Eventualy the doors open and you step out... into a convience store?

The mortal at the counter notices the confused expression on your face and laughs. "They built this ship sturdy as they come lady, but they must have been strung out of spacerocks when they planned the city inside it. Who the hell puts the elevator to the vampire suite inside of a comercialy zoned building?"

You cringe as he mentioned the word vampire. "Yeah. I know what you are. I'm one of the few permant residents on this ship, I've run this store for 6 voyages worth of soon to be colonists, and have had your lot in my basement everytime."

You nod and smile. This mortal could be dangerous. "How did you manage to make it this long without being killed or turned?"

He smiles. "I just tell em that they need a mortal at the front desk so as not to draw susp-"

The clerk cuts himself off as another customer enters the store. "Listen, I'm guessing you wanna go out and explore the vessle. We can have this discussion later." He tosses you a keycard. "This will get you into the store if I'm locked up."

You catch the small plastic rectangle and head 'outside' onto the main slumdeck. You find the hovercart the servants mentioned as one of your assets and power it up to drive around. You quickly begin to spot all the buildings and people one would find in a seedy inner city. You take a moment to ponder your next action.

See if their are any mortals in cyrogenic sleep. If there are, take one and bring it back to the lair. Look for a religious structure of some type...We could subvert their cause and values.

Indeed, we should start looking for people to turn to our bloodline. Perhaps use our persuasion a bit to get into areas we normally could not? Also, see if there is a blood bank for us to take advantage of.
