Irrelevant.

Bay12ers, I have a challenge for you. Can you think of anything that CANNOT be weaponized? After thinking of a weaponization method, think up some other seemingly peaceful thing.
I shall go first:

Migrants
Ah, I see.  It doesn't specify that it has to be within DF.

As such, I shall pose my challenge once more: Weaponise a single photon.

What's wrong with using magma? That's almost always the easiest method.
I have issues channeling it properly to do that method. I end up flooding the fortress with magma.

Modify the photon for it to be an ultra-mega-weapon, and destroy the Earth with it.

Light does have a mass-equivalent (which is what E=mc2 is all about), so a single photon emitted by an object balanced precariously enough is capable of making the object fall. As for weaponizing it, just use a large boulder as the object and have it balanced on the very tip of a ledge over a crowd of people.

I like your thinking.

It doesn't have a mass-equivalent - it's a momentum equivalent that you're thinking of, so yes, a single photon could impart momentum onto a precariously balanced boulder and knock it rolling.

However... the formula E=mc2 is actually referring to the amount of energy stored within matter - and the amount of energy released as a result of nuclear reactions (which are all about converting mass into energy or vice versa). One kilogram of matter produces about 90 PJ (90x1015 J) if it's perfectly converted into energy.

That's enough to launch the entirety of France just under a metre into the air.

I do see where you're coming from, though; strictly speaking, the energy of a nuclear reaction is emitted as light - so, in theory, yes, light beams can be said to have a mass equivalent.

OT: Weaponise... a flake of dandruff.

Within DF - FPS.

Oh sure, lousy FPS might cause you to abandon. But no-one "wins" then.

Also on a similar vein - multithreading cannot be weaponised because it doesn't exist in DF  :D

Finally, necro'd threads cannot feasibly be weaponised. Only zombie threads.

That wouldn't be weaponizing the pebbles, it would be weaponizing the ground that the pebbles just happen to be laying on. And I am not even sure if its possible to build blocks from them...

No, but you CAN smooth, then engrave them. They become an engraved stone tile. Select "artistic urist mcmason', burrow him in the pebble infested area temporarily, designate smooth, then designate engrave.  Build ordinary floor tiles over the top of the engraved stone floors. This destroys the engraving, but leaves the stone floor underneath. Deconstruct, rinse repeate. Artistic mcmason becomes psychotic mcmason.

Release when ready.

Goodness, you guys. A single photon is a weapon. Photons can contain an arbitrary amount of energy, you just up the frequency. Gamma rays, cosmic rays, and so on. You're overthinking this.

Weaponise a photon: done. It's a weapon.

(boy im jumping back into this topic A bit too late?)
weaponize :
toilet paper
hair
a molecule of water
Toilet paper = strangling someone with it.
hair=zombie hair

molecule of water......... water is 2 hydrogen (1) 1 oxygen (4), so remove the hydrogen (somehow), fuse the two hydrogen atoms together to get helium (2), then fuse the helium with the oxygen to get carbon (6). Then throw the carbon (or a diamond) through someones skull. Done!

Oxygen has 8 protons. 8 + 1 + 1 = 10, not 6 (the number of protons in carbon). That wouldn't work, even if you ignored the number of neutrons ect.
