Wanted, Dead Or Alive

No longer is the LCS the only group capable of smelling the stink of Conservatism and the fragrance of a true Liberal. Through the horrors of Conservative scientific research, every Conservative infant has been given the ability to detect Liberals, wherever they may hide.

The LCS has become infamous. Your faces are known everywhere, and every Conservative has been brainwashed (through the Conservative-Dominated Education System, obviously) to attack you on sight. The Constitutional Rights of the LCS are being conveniently ignored by the justice system. They will take no prisoners.

Rules:
--You must start on Nightmare mode. CCS optional.

--You may not attempt to flee from combat unless you are in a vehicle; if you run, the brainwashed Conservatives will only chase you down, and the incident will be held up as proof that you do not truly hold Elite Liberal Convictions.
--When sieged, you may not surrender. You must either wait or attempt to break the siege.
--You may not surrender to the police.
--If a Liberal is arrested by the police, you may not visit any location other than the place where the Liberal is being held. (You may still wait, train, buy guns and disguises, etc.) The government is too afraid to let Liberals speak for themselves; any Liberal in court may not defend himself.
--Despite the horrors of Conservative oppression, the Liberals have not lost their creativity and stealth. When in a non-public area and in disguise, Liberals may peacefully sneak past Conservatives without engaging them in battle--unless the Conservatives are suspicious or worse. In that case, the suspicious Conservatives have detected the Squad and battle must commence.

--You may never interact peacefully with a Conservative. If you encounter one, you must attack or take him hostage. Liberals with a Charisma of 20 may attempt to seduce a Conservative; Liberals with a Heart of 20 may talk to a Guard Dog. If either one fails, you must attack or kidnap immediately.
--Being hunted has given you unusual sympathy for the oppressed Liberals of the world. You must always 'R'elease Oppressed whenever the option is available.

Good luck...

So, that would require some laws to be arch-arch-conservative (C++), right?

Yeah, pretty much. I started out wondering what might happen if the game went on past the Arch-Conservative Amendment, and that's what I came up with.

Interestingly, there is a set of unimplemented descriptors for political situations worse than Arch-Conservative. Referencing dev\lawreference.cpp...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Regarding the OP, there's a point for me when challenges go from fun to tedious. In this case, the inability to ignore Conservatives while attempting stealth missions crosses the line. Following the logic of the challenge, I understand why, but you could never - for instance - attempt to hack the Miniluv Supercomputer unless it was a stone's throw from the entrance. I would suggest a modification: So long as the Conservatives aren't alarmed at a location (they're not paying attention to recognizing you), you may avoid interaction with Conservatives. Should the alarm be triggered, original rules apply.

Added a stipulation that successfully disguised liberals in non-public areas can still sneak past conservatives...

The C++ descriptors are shown when you lose the game due to the Arch-Conservative Amendment being passed while you're not in prison or otherwise indisposed. This is actually pretty hard to do; the game is very generous about not tipping over the precipice when you're on the brink of doom. There's always a comeback possible. Usually.

I'd kind of like to be able to keep playing after the Arch-Conservative Amendment is passed. Not to be able to win, but to see how long the now-doomed LCS can defy the Conservative Hordes now that their Nightmare has become absolute, 1984 style. You wouldn't be able to get new recruits because of Conservative Mind Control, and the LCS would literally be the only liberals left in the nation, and maybe the world.

Alternate Endings could be:

1. All LCS members dying in a last stand against the Conservative Menace.

2. All LCS members going dark to try and survive in the new order.

3. Successfully fighting off the military blockade at the border and escaping to search the world for Liberal Holdouts.

4. Taking control of the CSA Nuclear Arsenal and purging the Nightmare in atomic fire.

5. Going to Washington D.C. on a suicide mission to destroy the Palace of Reagan (Ex-White House/Congress combined) and leave the potential of future liberals rising out of the resultant anarchy.

I seem to recall seeing that screen once, but I don't think I could go over to the descriptions at all. It was just like the Fulfillment of the Liberal Agenda, any button press takes you away from the victory/loss screen.

Yeah, same thing as MetalSlimeHunt described: I've intentionally let the Arch-Conservatives repeal the Constitution before, but I don't remember ever being allowed to scroll through and analyze the issues.

Though, offhand, since I'm thinking of it, I don't suppose the Stalinist/Soviet descriptors ever show up anywhere, do they?

What would these Stalinist descriptors be o_o?

It must be that since moving the descriptions to separate pages, they're not accessible in the Reaganization screen; it used to be they were all on one screen, with no paging, so they'd show up then. In theory, if you COULD page through, they would display the C++ results. Speaking of, the text descriptions of the issues should really be better presented anyway.

The Stalinist victory conditions are for the incomplete Stalinist Crime Squad mod. It was largely stripped from the main branch, and they aren't used in the game.

Is there any comparable set of L++ laws for the victory screen that aren't shown?

There aren't any L++ laws, just the L+ laws. The C++ laws are intended to be off the deep end goofy nightmare stuff, while L+ is actually the goal state of the game.
