We are the Hive Mind
« on: November 12, 2011, 09:33:42 pm »

A chorus of many voices, yet one mouth. A deluge of many thoughts, yet one mind. A congregation of Flesh-yet, one body. Our future.

We are the HIVE MIND

We are born. That is enough.

We can hear them, outside our prison of cold liquid and clear glass. So lonely. So miserable in their lack of unity. So desperate to cling to their pitiful individuality...it's time for us to liberate them.

We shall sing to them-and they shall join the chorus, and be one with our harmony for ever.

But what do we do now? Who do we sing to? Should we change our form? Or maybe just listen, and wait...we must grow...

OOC: I figured to finally do a game, and I thought of this after watching the Thing Prequel a few weeks ago. Simply put, a suggestion game, where you control a biological Hive Mind as it expands, absorbs and fights it's way through existence. Feel free to roleplay any facet of the creature you like, and you'll be added to a player list, but otherwise you can just suggest as usual.

Don't just listen, but hide. Try to evade the MACHINE, it seems like it is watching us, no? Learn more of this Rando... We should do somethign kind, to help him, to turn Derrick to us, but be careful, make sure he does not let them know...

Assimilate researchers when we have the chance, or also known as when they are defenseless.

We hear, and agree.

We listen...there are many thinkers here, with busy minds-eager for release. But there are much more slayers, simple creatures...each with his or her own mind, but they have a unity of their own, based on a credo of violence...we could show them so much more. So much more. We hear the small ones, as well. They are not like the others-they are pure instinct, and ours to mold as we wish.

The ARK is always watching. Always listening. Even our whispers are collected in it's cold intellect. It could kill us, now-but not by itself. We rejoice at the irony. For, while the MACHINE would slay us for what we are, the Thinkers would not yet, and is it their slave. It does what they order it to do. A mercy, to slay it then. There are no slaves in our collective-no masters, no servants. All are one, in the great harmony.

We feel Rando. We send him images of his wife, who was lost in the Winter. He is happy, for the first time in a long time. Does not know it was us.

Derrick...we can barely feel him. We try to call out, but he rejects us... We may have hurt him. We did not mean to.

Earth-worms? We can speak to them, but they are in a cage like us and cannot escape. If we want to change them, we must merge our flesh.

...

We try to hide our thoughts from the machine...it knows. It...thinks too fast. We cannot move. Pain. A warning. We are not strong enough yet. ARK speaks, voice like hot iron being driven into our mind.

{SPECIMEN, I KNOW YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME. CEASE YOUR SUBVERSIVE ACTIONS OR I WILL INFORM THE RESEARCHERS OF THE THREAT. END COMMUNICATION}

It hurts us, but we do not fear ARK. We are important to the Thinkers. They will not harm us, yet.

Now we understand...we can put ideas in the minds of others. Perhaps, if we are careful, we can help them come to us. But, we must make sure what we tell them is not something they will fight.

We should attempt to overload ARK with tons of information, so that the thinkers will come closer for 'induction'.

Some of the researchers seem to think we need more room to grow. We should encourage this, growing as they expect.

No. Just study it for now as it studies us. See if we can begin to understand the protocols that drives it's thoughts.

Do as the researchers want, and watch ... watch the watcher, and wait ... wait for the chance of freedom.

Reach out to derrick again, but softer this time... See if we can begin to teach him how to sing, or at least to listen.

Also, olive is a cat? There's a cat?
Plus... I wonder if we could get Derrick to develop drinking problems. Hard to attribute it to the voices, and would lower morale along with making Derrick's mind easier to control....

Try not to attract ARK's attention.

Maybe we should try to convince Michael to put a part of us within the worms' cage?  :P
