Turn One
Hey, maps!

GM Note- Each room has an associated number- they were assigned randomly, purely for identification and inventory purposes. You also each have your own map- once you find other players (or rooms other players were in,) your maps will merge into a haphazard whole. Terrain features are in blue, and items are in green. Traps are hidden (dur) and monsters are mobile enough you can't count on them staying long any one place. Accordingly, the stats for each monster are bundled in with the turn of the player they are nearest. It's more intuitive than I'm making it sound, but if you've got questions, speak up!


Investigate the Alter

[5] Spartan investigates the hell out of the altar! He conclusively determines that the altar is unaligned (and thus safe to pray at for anyone,) it is not trapped, it neither contains nor conceals any items of value, and that the stain was made by delicious slime mold juice- somebody has been snacking here.

Look at the boulder

[5] Bob investigates the hell out of the boulder! He finds that the boulder is not trapped nor is it part of a more elaborate trap (such as a rolling boulder trap,) and that the boulder does not disguise any hidden doors or items. However, traced in the dust beneath the boulder is the heavily obscured phrase "?o?n?y ?a? ?e??." With a bit of effort, Bob discovers that he can roll the boulder around, for whatever nefarious purpose he can devise.

SLASH THE GOBLIN! SLASH SLASH!

"IN THE NAME OF SLASHY-SLASH, I SLASH AT THEE!"  [4]+1vs[5] Despite Powder Miner's savvy slashening, the goblin is able to safely sashay away from the storm of slashes!

Cast protection, then open the door to the east and walk through. If it's locked, try the north door, then the south door if that one is locked. If they are all locked then Force Bolt the east door until I can get through.

Bulldog casts Protection, [3] and is surrounded by a weak golden glow! He receives a +1 to dodge rolls until the end of turn!

Cautiously, Bulldog tries the door to the east- locked. Heading north, he tries that door- open! After passing through a small corridor, Bulldog emerges in a much smaller room. There is a Boulder here, as well as a Crystal Wand! There are, however, no other exits.

Open the door, burn out any torches, go into a defensive stance if I see anything hostile.

G opens the door to the south and bursts through! This room is rather dank and moldy compared to the others, with closed doors South and West. A wild coyote leaps to its feet upon G's entrance, snarling! As G runs to darken the room, he triggers a hidden trap! [1] G is caught in a column of fire, taking TWO damage! Fortunately, he is carrying no flammable objects or potions. As the coyote blinks from the bright flash of firelight, G attempts to enter a defensive stance- [2] unfortunately, he is too distracted by the SEARING PAIN to effectively ready himself.

Aggravated Monsters

The goblin in room 4 slashes back at Powder Miner! [5]-1vs[3] The slashening is strong with this one, and he deals ONE damage!

The coyote in room 70 leaps at G, [3]-1vs[3], but G is able to clumsily roll away from the attack!

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.

Yep, you got it. Toaster gets a BONUS POINT! First active player to guess gets another bonus point, and then I hang my head in shame for thinking it was more difficult than it was.

And yeah, I've done more work on this round than I'd anticipated. I think when the round ends I'll throw my various random tables and item lists up in the Brainstorming thread in case somebody else wants to run a Nethack game.

Is there any cooldown on magic?
Cast protection again if not, then do a spot check on the room, move the boulder to check if there is anything under it and pick up the wand. If I found a secret door, then open or blast it if it is locked then go through. If not, then head back south and try the south door.

Round Three- Turn Two
The Slashening



Go to the east room

[6] Bob heads east, and after a short corridor enters a new room. This room is much longer than the previous room- the northern end is dominated by a broad pool of LAVA. There is a closed door to the east.

RAAAAH! YOU CAN'T DO THAT! SLASH THE GOBLIN! SLASH SLASH SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!

Powder Miner will not stand for this defilement of Slashy-Slash's name! [6]+1vs[4] This slash strikes true, and the sad sack's sternum is severed! The goblin falls down DEAD, and Powder Miner earns himself TWO POINTS!

Powder Miner sees a crude orcish dagger and an Oaken Wand here.

[no cooldown on magic] [6] Focusing his will, Bulldog casts Protection- this time, the golden aura gathers thickly about him, blindingly so! The magic provides a +2 to dodge until the end of turn 3, but the light also impairs his aim to the tune of -1 attack! Bulldog tries searching the seeming dead end, [2] but his examination is fruitless. As Bulldog finishes his search, his foot depresses a floor-stone, triggering an arrow trap! [5] Bulldog easily escapes the trap, however. He then pushes the boulder a few feet to the side, with no noticeable effect. Bulldog finishes up his investigation of the room by grabbing the Crystal Wand and exiting south.

Bulldog then trots back through his starting room [4] and without missing a beat proceeds through the southern door. The corridor beyond slopes down slightly before emptying in another small room. There is an exit to the East. As Bulldog enters the room, the floor opens beneath him [2] and he falls into a spiked pit, taking TWO damage! As he ponders an escape from the pit, Bulldog notices a Brown Mold growing across the ceiling...

Pray at the Alter for upgraded Weapons and Armor

[3] Spartan rests his Short Sword on the altar, and invokes his deities blessing! The sword glows faintly blue for a moment as it is blessed, giving it a +1 bonus vs demons/undead! No armor, though.

Kill the cyote.

G leaps to the attack, [3]vs[3] but his stab misses! Determined to kill the coyote this turn, G attacks again, [5]-1vs[3] and slashes the coyote's side, dealing ONE damage! G thrusts with one last attack, [6]-2vs[4] but he is too tired and the slash too slow as the coyote nimbly dodges away!

The brown mold in room 93 just sits there. Growing.

The coyote in room 70 charges at G, [4]-1vs[5], but G effortlessly sidesteps the attack!

Grab my bloody sword and kick open the north door, taking both the dagger and wand and throwing them into the room to look for traps.
