Snow in a volcano !!! Is that bad omen?

I have snow in the center of my volcano, on the diorite block floor that serve as animal sacrifice magma plongeon to armok (praise the lord of all ascii mayhem, a new puppy as been sacrificed to you today as it befits your great splendor and wrath)... WHAT THE HELL IS SNOW DOING THERE! Isn't it supposed to be hot in the mouth of pure joy and evil? I guess the mountain at the top generated that snow....

I'm assuming temperature is turned on, due to the rain freezing, so I'm not sure. I'm not exactly good with DF thermodynamics, mind.
