You feel yourself coming to life - as the fire burns ever more hotly within you, your snow melts, forming life-giving streams that cascade down your face, running into the forests below. Satisfied with how things are progressing, you turn your mind to your village. Something stirs in the back of your mind, but you ignore both it and the strange newcomers for the moment. Each will get their turn at the forefront of your thoughts.

For now, though, the Onoltilat need you. With concentrated effort, you rekindle the long dormant connection you hold with their hopes and dreams, their wishes and desires. Within moments, your mind is open to them. At first, there is silence. Then, you catch a drifting whisper of a prayer, a prayer to the mountain to grant blessings on a woman, a pregnant woman, who has fallen unconscious, who is on the verge of giving birth.

Further a field, another small prayer, weaker but still there, one of the shepherds offering a thanks to the mountain before breaking biting into his lunch.

There is a stirring in the village as they hear, and then see, the water approaching - a small waterfall cascades through the empty spaces between the lodgings, guided in such a way as to leave the village dry and safe. You catch quick prayers that this sign, strange as it is, is another good omen. An elderly mind, old and in many ways connected with the roots of the mountain, offers a prayer of hope to the mountain he is sure is awakening.

Satisfied with the village at the moment, the thought in the back of your mind finds an opening and pushes its way to the front. On the peak, there were... footprints. Visitors. Your thoughts climb the slope, and explore the depressions in the snow. They lead both to and from a small cave, a cave full of those who have gone to rest with the mountain, one quite recent, no more than a week old.

You feel something, someone, a presence you do not recognize, at the base of your slope, ascending. But there are many things on which you can focus now - your powers awaken, but must yet be brought under your control. The villagers send you prayers and wishes. And perhaps, with some effort, you can discover or remember the purpose of the snowy cave, or at least explore it with your mind more thoroughly?

And there is still the matter of the strange new place in the forest.

Due to your additional level in inner fire, you may pick an additional sub-skill when putting a point into a main skill.

I say we get weather. With weather we can probably bring snow and rain which will Help us maintain our ice reserves, While spring may allow us to make hot pools for our future spa resort tourist location it Might not allow us to make mud slides to destroy our enemies.

We might want to invest at least a bit in Springs. Our ice supplies will not last forever.

We should try to focus on that cave. I expect it to be the final restng place of the villager. Maybe we could gain some power in death. Also bless the child-bearing woman. Her son/daugther will be our son/daughter.

You always get two skill-ups, and "several" actions (depending on what the actions are)

Oh, we get 2 skill-ups and actions? In that case our skills should be Life [Bloom and wither], and Water [Springs and Invigorating Waters]

I vote Awareness of the Mind and Awareness of the Earth for skills.

For actions, let's focus on that cave! Start at the top and work our way down, I say.

We shall be a great, kind presence, sheltering and listening, not a booming god of violence and destruction.
Quite so, but we could do with a bit of mystery and focused power too.

Also did anyone notice the stability lowering.
Didn't read the thread, did you? Of course our stability is going down; we increased our inner fire, and volcanos are not usually know for their stability.

> Hurry here! First help the birthing woman before she dies in labour! Increasing your strength of Life to do so, and increasing your knowledge as you do so. Give the child your blessing.

> Investigate the great disturbance in the forest next. Increase your Awareness so that you can tell what it is, and perhaps why it is there. Know if those there travel the waterways. Know how they change the earth and forest. Know if they are untoward.
> If the villagers do not know, send their wisest the visions of the disturbance you collected, and where that disturbance is in relation to them.
> Create a small spring to fill your stream, balancing between snowmelt and groundwater, so that neither will ever be depleted.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Wait, so we can get two sub-skills when putting a point in a main skill?
