It's going to get MUCH broke-er if we keep selling things at such large losses.

I, for one, approve wholeheartedly of any random, untimely addition of more Fun.

You know what they say. "When life gives you elephants... Commence secret project Eff the World."

Besides, if you make enough Fun to stretch out a couple years, you can have some fun screwing me over for enjoying the possibility that we're all screwed. :D

Since the number one rule for this succession was no military or single tile traps, I saw no reason to keep all that armor and weaponry.

Late Spring

Today, I have begun work on a new secret project of mine.
I've also managed to get some of the basic life necessities set up such as a simple but proper dining room, some offices, and a few extra workshops.
I might need a few more beds though, since some of the dwarves are still sleeping outside

But apart from that, all is well, especially now that I've expanded the agriculture section of the fort.

Before I continue, I'd just like to know how many non-military things in this game have actually been weaponized (successfully) before.

I think a list of things that have not been weaponized is easier.

Mid Autumn

“So uh sir, you want this rock right here?”

“yes”

“And this mechanism right here?”

“uh huh”

“And this lever linked to that spindly support holding up 20 metric tons of constructed rock over there?”

“Absolutely.”

“If I didn’t know any better sir, I’d say that this was a ceiling bomb rigged to cave-in through several floors worth of dug out construction material in an effort to blast a river-draining hole into that area of the fortress you just dug out.”

...

“Just pull the damn lever.”

A slight tremor was felt through the earth before two massive columns of stone come crashing down into the river. Two large holes appeared on the points of impact which promptly began to suck in all nearby water into a seemingly bottomless abyss. The river, great as its reservoirs of water were, slowly began to sink as the newly formed drains sucked in water faster than it could be replenished.

The dwarves rejoiced when the once great river became nothing more than a mere valley of puddles.

Dwarven engineering has once again proven that it is truly the master of all of nature's forces.

edit: note to dhokarena,
in order to complete the river project, I had to disassemble part of your trap. Someone else can try putting it back together again, although I don't think that will be necessary anymore.
