Murky Pool Irrigation
« on: November 07, 2011, 02:08:35 am »

I've found several murky pools several Z levels above my crop area, could I do something like this and dig a staircase upwards into the bottom of a murky pool, then let the water irrigate the crops? Because doing this shit with a bucket is painful.

Sure. I do it fairly often. Just make sure the pool is big enough to provide enough water. I usually use a cistern directly above the farm area with a pair of hatches or bridges to control inflow and outflow to the cistern, but putting the cistern to the side is doable as well.
