When I said Social flaws, I also said of varying severity. Not everyone has who plays has to have such large flaws.

I am familiar with Homestuck, Falcon.

Personally, I think you're ascribing WAY more artistic value to it than necessary.

So, Shoes: 20 = problem? Y/N?

But thats how the game really is. What do YOU think Homestuck is about then? Because last time I checked, I believe thats what it was about.

((And also, why DID you change your characters age? There was no problem before and I don't see much of a reason behind changing it again.))

Age doesn't matter. This is a forum game based on Homestuck. We aren't renacting it. Shoes probably has his own story, which will take elements from Homestuck. If it is about overcoming flaws then you just need flaws. Unless Shoes decides to include something about the age being within a certain range it simply won't matter.

No. You perceive Homestuck to be about X, Y, and Z, while I don't think it's really "about" anything and am just enjoying it for the story.

I told you, I originally wrote the character sheet with him being 20. Then, in the process of writing it, I changed it to fifteen, because I thought it would be a good idea to be a teen. But then I reconsidered, and decided to change it back to 20 because I wanted to play a character the same age as me, which I've never done before, and because I didn't think it would be a problem.

And so far, the only person who seems to have a problem with my character being twenty is you, Johnfalcon.

But why just make him 15 and make is so there isn't any problems? Do you really value playing a character thats your age so much? Besides, this is Roleplaying. The !purpose is to play as people who know you could never be in Real life.

So can you please just change your characters age a bit? Its not something we need to fight to the bone over, and I think you don't really value your characters age that much. Whats a little change for plot consistancy?

Actually, John, dragonshardz is hardly even fighting you here. You're the one who won't give up the subject and let him have a little fun.

I mean really. It's a forum game. Be realistic.

Dragnar? I see no Dragnar here. :P
Really what we need is a final word from Shoesandhats.

But, why are you getting involved in the issue? I am just politely asking dragonshardz to tweak his age a bit, because the little stuff like that can really throw me off. A age issue like this doesn't need to become an issue in the first place.

Partly because I think it's ridiculous how Shoes is just trying to have a forum game based somewhat on Homestuck and you're throwing it off by making a big deal out of something like that for over twenty posts. I'll take my leave, but I will just remind you that there is no need to derail a thread with a completely meaningless debate over the age of a character in a barely-started text-based forum game. Can't we just have fun around here? Sheesh.

Do you think I was derailing the thread? As I said before, I was just asking him to adjust his age a little. And also, I think the difference between a 20 year old man and a 15 year old kid playing with a bunch of kids. Even if you don't think its a big thing, I pay a lot of attention to the little things and a grown man playing a kids game (In the RPG's Universe, of course) is just going to constantly annoy me.

Perhaps, then, you could turn that into a roleplaying point. Whenever you two interact, you could be amazed and or disgusted at his immaturity in playing this game.

EDIT: and also, John, are you currently signed into pesterchum?

No, but I will be in a second. Yes yes I am.

If he makes his character really immature, so that he could still be considered a child, it will be less annoying to me, I guess. Really, its mostly the mental status of being a kid then being physically a kid.

A age issue like this doesn't need to become an issue in the first place.

You're the only who is making an issue out of it.

If Shoesandhats comes down from on high and says I can't be 20, I'll be more than happy to change it. Unless that happens and I refuse (which I wouldn't, I'm not a total ass), it shouldn't be an issue.

Perhaps, then, you could turn that into a roleplaying point.

This is an astoundingly good idea. +1 from me.

If you stick to the lighthearted tone, and be a bit ridiculous then I'd have no problems with the age. If you were serious and protective all the time AND that age then I'd have a problem with it.

If we are suppose to have flaws then we should try to emphasize them often. This goes for me too. Expect sci-fi references and robots, lots of robots, working (one or two) and otherwise (the rest). My guy loves building stuff, but he isn't exactly smart enough to figure out his mistakes.
