1. This was a webcomic, physics need not apply.
2. I believe it was a button that he pressed in since there is a definite horizontal line after he opens it.

You take a good look at the top and notice that it seems like it would open up under certain circumstances. You think you can see something glowing inside. You attempt to turn the valve, but it seems to be a bit stuck on what you would describe as the 'lid' of the machine.

Ok, I can accept 17, or even 18 if their Birthday was recent, but this is just GOING WAY TOO FAR. This is a game meant for a group of kids to finally come of age and save their species, and its clear that the game does not choose adults.
