I'm ~185 cm which is something like 6 feet, and when I weighed 65kg/130pounds I was incredibly underweight and weak. At the moment I'm probably somewhere between 70 and 75, but I don't have a weight around so I'm not sure.

so yeah, I'm guessing Kael's just short. :P

5 ft 8 inches.

My build is fit, pretty thin, but I have no body fat at all.

Weighed in at +25 pounds of muscle since getting back this May. Approaching 130 pounds.

Still doing the old freeweight routine but added bonus yoga today.
Hey, you outweigh me now. I'm 5'8" and 120, here. Probably not going to gain more than a few pounds now that I've stopped growing, and endurance running is about, well, endurance. Not so much muscle gain.

if you plan to run 1000 miles this winter, you have an avergae of 91 days to do so. so that's.... 11 miles a day. Good luck with that.

Technically, it's 100 days from the end of Cross Country to Track, so that's only 10 per day.  :P

This is gonna be awesome.

I do multiple reps daily with 32 and 40 pound weights. Sometimes they give me hugs.

I didn't think that counted, but mine is 28 pounds, for comparison.
My lower back and calves certainly think it counts. And in all seriousness, I have significantly more upper-body strength and bicep/tricep mass now than I did before having children.

My older one is 60 lbs, and can certainly give me a workout at times.  I don't rough around with them too often these days, but still... a couple weeks ago I was doing the trick with them where they grab my hands and walk up my torso until they flip over backwards.  Usually I just do that a few times before moving on, but this time they begged me to keep going for at least half an hour.  My upper body certainly felt it.  And carrying a bored/tired kid in each arm for hours at a time when we're all forced to go along shopping happens often enough, too.

It's not a proper replacement for regular workout.  I'm still in the worst shape of my life.  But most people in real life get upset when I say things like that, since I'm still fairly thin (5'11"/~175 lbs) with visible muscle tone.  I've only gained about 15 lbs since high school, despite spending most of the last 5 years in front of a computer.

I've been trying to push myself to make time for regular workouts for the last 2 or 3 years, but it never happens.  It's nothing to do with aversion to the work itself.  I just have so little time to spare.  I would love to feel athletic again.

Oh lawd, everyone's so slim. I've always been a fairly stocky muscular build, which is lucky for me. :D
But yeah, I've been doing weights. Because of damaged shoulder joints, I can only do bicep curls and pull-downs, so I do those at thirty pounds (but a lot of them.) I've witnessed the increase in my strength already, which is cool.

Nah, I'm 5'4" and weigh 124 pounds.  You aren't alone!

Of course, if I go back to doing kendo I'll probably drop a lot of that, but hey.  For a while, at least, I am chubby and out of shape.

124 pounds, gimme a sec to convert that to metric.

5'4" and ... 56.3kg?

That's slim.
That's healthy.

Vector, you're a healthy size.

Though BMI isn't a great indicator for most people, as muscular or tall people are easily classified as overweight, your BMI is 21.
Average, slim, healthy size is 18.5-25. So you're smack bang exactly perfect weight for your height.

Haha, well, a year and a half ago I weighed 105 pounds, so it's a little bit weird for me to be at this weight.  When I'm back in fighting shape I'm expecting a precipitous weight loss of 10-15 pounds over a few months, and then I'll probably get quite a bit of it back in muscle.

Especially if I end up doing wushu when I move closer to campus.  Jegus.

I started speeding up my walks. Same distance, cutting off about five minutes. Slowing going to either work up into a jog, or do the same route twice a day.

EDIT: Looking at maps (google) it seems my route is rather...small. 1.4 miles. How long of a walk should that be? As a note, after seeing how long that is, I have decided to start doing it twice a day.

Agh, I think I should get a proper jogging outfit or something. :( I always feel terribly self-conscious going running in crowded public areas, which has no-doubt contributed to my loss of fitness since I moved more into the city. I used to be able to run... Well, pretty far, I think. :P
I need to get back into this.

Comp, in my opinion it depends on your level of fitness. Assuming you're experiencing summer at the moment, be well stocked with water or an electrolytic/hydrolytic solution like gatorade/etc, or make your own.
For rehydration i either use a medical brand solution called Hydrolyte or make my own drink out of water, lemonade, a few mint sprigs, ice, and about a half-tablespoon of salt (in a 2L bottle.) Works absolute wonders.

Don't overwork yourself, despite the title training like a masochist is never good. Know your own limits.

If you're fit enough and have enough time, go on a short-medium walk of 4-6km (2.4-3.7mi) once a day. While jogging is useful, it may not be everyone's cup of tea. I find that a long, mildly strenuous walk leaves me feeling stronger and healthier than a short, mildly strenuous jog.

So yeah, I tried starting walking yesterday and it's not just going to work, even with real shoes (though I guess they're a little old) instead of converse I can't walk for long enough before my legs start to hurt and goes numb, so I'm going to have to check that out. Going to call the health centre on Monday, and they'll probably be able to set me up with some kid of leg-doctor or whatever if necessary. Or my psychiatrist, even.

Anyway, 'til then, I'm going to start doing sit-ups/push-ups/that kind of training as well, besides the weight-lifting. Going to have to find out how much I'm able to do firstly. I should probably check if I can cycle without my legs hurting too. I would get a swimming house card, but I'm not sure I can afford it. I should remember to find that out as well. Maybe I can apply for grants or get to visit state health trainers or something, depending on what's up with the legs. Don't think they're just untrained, though. I've had that pain for too long and it's just too painful to be training-tiredness/ache.
