And now I'm ashamed that 50 crunches and 35 pushups yesterday made me sore today. :P

Also, pushups are really hard to do when a 26lb writhing mass of energy decides to jump on your already overworked back.

It's even worse when a 15lb ball of fluff decides the proximity of your face to the floor is ideal for licking.

I am so glad that my daughter didn't do that, but I wouldn't put it past her.

I can do crunches forever, but pushups are hard. I can get in maybe 20 at a time, have to wait a few minutes, and then do 30 more. Much past 50 and my form falls apart and I move like frozen tar through quicksand.

Posting to update. Barbells are going good, although I've had to sort-of stall my workout for the past two weeks due to christmas and similar arrangements. But in a week or two I should be back on schedule for a while.

Weights are going up, I don't have any pains squatting anymore and I've progressed past 55. Looks are also advancing nicely, I'm slowly turning into a real hunk. ;]

Spoiler: weights (click to show/hide)

My muscles are nearly aching to get back again and working those weights. Although I hear that January is suppsoedly the worst month to work out, since all the new-years-resolution folks are goign to be flocking to.

Don't worry. They only hit the gym once or twice before they quit.

It's incredible how you can keep on refining your form. It's like there is always that element you missed. Now I improved up my squat form and it feels so much better. My shoulders used to ache a little from reaching the correct stance, but don't anymore. I'm putting more of my ass into the lift so now everything goes up easier.

Oh, and Rippetoe is freaking awesome

I can't do pushups on floors, I need a bar to do it, and it's not my chest being weak, it's aching from my palms when I press my body weight against it, and I don't think that's normal in push ups? No one I've met before ever had aching in their palms when doing pushups.

Walked through the mountains and the bush in the stinking heat as exercise. 6km walk up and down very steep hills. Later that day, I went to the 'Thousand Steps' and ran up and then down them... then yesterday I also swam for a few hours. I am POOPED.

Man, I took some time off of running while I was off visiting family, and I feel like crap. I need to get outside and punch slowness in the face.

Remember to drive with your back leg when you throw that punch. People always forget that part, but it's the key to throwing a KTFO punch. :P

Today I deadlifted 100 kg (225 lb) in a set of 5. Two big-boy plates on either side. Feels good man. 8)

Right on, bro. I've been practicing my hurdling form, since a friend of mine suckered me into joining the hurdling this spring. My form is terible right now, but I can go pretty fast thanks to my distance running.
