Ever since I play DF the hammerer is bugged and did not come to my fortress.
I want him to bash in skulls!

Solutions anywhere?

You can set him to be assigned by the player/expedition leader/mayor in the raws, but other than that...

Give a hammer to a member of fortress guard, give him hammerer title. If he will be in his squad alone he will dispence justice all the time. Or you can get a full squad of 10 hammerers.

I thought that just assigning a captain of the guard and giving him a hammer worked? This can be done by assigning the captain of the guard to a squad and by assigning him a uniform in the military screen. Also the next update, whenever it comes out, should have hammerers back in according to the post on the front page today.

Also, does anyone else read "Today" as "Toady" ever since playing this game? I swear I have to double check every time I spell it/read it to make sure I got it right

If I were you I'd set up jails/prisons so the justice isn't a quick death blow to any decent dwarf in your fort because he accidently made something mandated. Learned this rule the hard way.

I forget exactly which file it is, but I want to say that it's in the dwarf entity. There's parameters for each noble position somewhere, you just set the requirements to be like other assignable positions.

If my dwarfs are not dwarfy enough to make slade earrings, they deserve death!

Actually, through my research (see sig), slade can be used in construction. Mason's workshop, too. In theory, that means that it should also be viable in rock crafts.
