I guess that works. Mainly I was looking forward to seeing how far you could get with a largely underwater settlement, though it looks like that's limited to extraction.

I'm still really looking for the editor, but Ubisoft appears to have heavily locked it down. There is the decompressor software...
The underwater outcrops aren't really settlements, as you cannot build houses down there. Its mostly there to extract the resources for the really high end stuff. It is, however, very cool looking and subs can really kick some ass if you tech up.

Has anyone found some good crack for Anno? I mean, I paid for it, it's just that I want to get my money's worth and last night I spent two hours just trying to get online so I could activate it to play the game I paid for. I love the crack.

I was hoping for this to be on the Steam winter sale, but alas, it seems Ubisoft is too stingy for that. It looks pretty interesting, but I think that €50 is a bit too steep for my tastes.

We should try a B12 multiplayer game! Who's up for it?

2:00 AM GMT - 4:00 AM GMT works OK for me for the next couple of weeks. Weekends are more flexible.

What sort of map? Lots of small islands?

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

For those of you picking up the game on the steam sale:

Hey. Pretty cool game, eh?

The AI is really, really annoying, though.

I didn't get enough tools to begin making my own. In between having enough people and reaching the iron, it was way too much. Game's making me rage more then I wanted.

The start is purposefully set to be slow.  At its base, Anno 2070 is an economic simulator; so you need to balance your population with your industrial expansion.  Not to mention grabbing a few of the low-key quests from the powers on the map.  They also tend to sell starting materials, as well.  ;D

Another hint, though, if you're feeling too strained, open up some of your goods for sale in your harbor.  Even a ton or two can quickly add up cause the trading vessels come regularly.  It can help give you a boost.

You'll often have to buy tools from your neighbours at the start, explore around a bit with your starting Commando Ship until you find someone selling them and pick up a shipment. In a pinch, your Ark can also bring in an emergency supply of tools for hefty amount of credits. Also, upgrading housing costs tools (among other resources once they reach higher tiers), so disabling automatic upgrading prevents them from eating up all your tools before you can actually produce them.

You can buy tools quite cheap from your ark, or trade with other players/AI

Been playing the series since ANNO 1503. I would love to play multiplayer with anyone.
