Appearantly, the game has been pushed back for both the US and UK releases until tomorrow, the 18th.  The website, and the latest news states thus.  So I guess we wont' get it until tomorrow.

Has anyone played this game yet? I am wondering if I should buy it, since I saw it for sale at the local EB store.

I saw it being played. It looks like the other Anno games, but in a new setting, and some new features, like building stuff underwater.

Well, I tried the demo, and although I can't say I'm hugely fond of the campaign, the game itself looks solid.. as far as I can tell.

The anno series has always been a solid game system.  That hasn't changed much in the way the games have been set up. The technology under the hood may change, but the system itself is good.

Still, compared to 1404, I'm loving the Near-Scifi setting, holographic images, and the all new technology tree.  8)  Still waiting to get my hands on it, though.

It does sound like a fun game.  I've always been a fan of building games, be it turn based or real time.  Civilization IV was probably my all time favorite, although I've also enjoyed Stronghold 1 & 2, Settlers - Rise of an Empire, Pharoah (man thats an old one..), etc  I tried out Sim Societies, and although it was fun for a while, its gameplay was so.. crappy.. I consider it a waste of money XD

To be honest, I've never even HEARD of Anno before this one.  Only reason I heard of this one is I saw an advertisement for it on the Skyrim Wiki, lol.  It looked neat, so I looked it up.

I wonder if there are any Let's Plays out for it yet..

Yes, Anno 2070 will have a multiplayer component, although the big draw of the game has always been the single player campaign and then the 'Continous Game' system, where you can build and expand as you want, with only the goals you set to deal with.

Thanks for telling me what draws me to the game.

MY biggest draw is playing the game with my small circle of friends.

He's not saying what draws YOU into the game, he's saying what draws PEOPLE into the game in general.  I know I'm more drawn to the "Continuous Game" system than the multiplayer, although the multiplayer does sound like it could be fun too.
