On a similar note, it gives me hope for a spinoff Guild 3 also set in this 2070 world.
I'm pretty sure the game company broke down. Even with their attempt at Renaissance :<

Wouldn't that be more of a capitalism game than the guild?

The first guy you meet requisitions a modernized turbine in order to achieve energy production, but despite an engineer's protests of further testing, he orders it online. The second mission has you cleaning up his mess. Afterwards, he blames both you and the engineer for the problem.

Yup. Happens all the time.

Somehow the demo managed to contain everything I am not interested in, and nothing of what I am.

I wanna build a friggin city, not carry stuff around in a ship to complete missions. At least make a limited mode with most of the building not being buildable instead of this.

Unless they make the Ecos assholes as well i'm fairly certain this will be another game tailored to "enlighten" people about global warming and why they should give out their money to "fight" it and reduce Co2 emissions.

What happens to that money is a different story... but hey.

Well, the very first mission sees an asshole corporate executive chew out an engineer for wanting to run more tests on a dam, then blames the engineer when the dam fails, it the space of about twenty seconds.  If it keeps pace when you meet the Eco guys, yeah, I can bet it'll be pretty hamfisted.

Fun city building game though, I'm enjoying the demo so far.

Which I believe they sorta did with the original Anno. There was an unwinnable mission or two, anyway.

I, too, hope for the Ecos to be smug assholes. If not, I know why I'll learn to mod Anno 2070.

That's actually something that's carried over from the previous Anno games.  If anyone has actually played through the campaigns, instead of just the Continous Game mode, then they'd know what I mean. There's always one or two 'asshole' characters that start making BIGGGG trouble from the get-go, and who are quite funny when they mess up themselves.  8)

I played Anno 1404 and loved it, never got to play the older games, but this new one looks awesome. If it's anything like the previous game it'll be great, plus this one gets to deal with modern technology, which is always fun stuff.

I'm just hoping it doesn't get dumbed down. I saw what they did with the last Settlers game and... dear god.

Note that Settlers seem to get a huge makeover every 2 sequels.

Settlers 1 and 2 had similar gameplay but 3 and 4 were a lot differnet but similar when compared to each other and settlers V were totally different again.

Settlers just change so much it's barely the same game anymore.

As for Anno 2070... i'd like to see the ecos as a insane ecologist faction that has no problems with killing exess humans... maybe even eating them (why should they let the meat go to waste).
Just like... elves...

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Guys, this is about Anno 2070, not a 'Ubisoft Games' thread.  Back on topic.  8)
