I'm sorry, I just don't know how to help. When I use the same  DF installation that i uploaded as the new version, it doesn't crash more times than the unmodded one, I think... So I'm not sure what goes wrong.

Do I have to add the files to an otherwise unmodded version of Dwarf Fortress, or is it a stand-alone sort of thing?

EDIT: I tried adding the files from My Little Fortress to an unmodded copy of Dwarf Fortress v0.34.11.  Something is wrong with the setup.  Is it compatible with Windows 7?

It's standalone. Well, that's why I packed my entire DF install there.
The error log is not relevant, it's due to the translation file and these errors don't affect anything, I get them myself.

Well, something's wrong!  I don't know what it is, but it's serious!  I can't play the game if I don't have a world to play in, and I can't have a world to play in if the world gen system's on the fritz.

Anybody else having trouble?

same trouble. Thats why i just gen ~3 year old worlds. At least i have a high chance to reach that year before it crashes.

Strange, I just downloaded the latest version of this bundle of evil and genned 200 year old worlds just fine, both custom and using the quick generation settings.

Describe your problems more, what else does your errorlog say?
What RAM and CPU power do you have?
Are you getting the same problem with say, Masterwork or vanilla DF?
Was Valikdu's mod working fine for you prior to version 1.62?

i have the same problem on bigger worlds. on vanilla I can usually get a world on the same settings to 80 years but with this mod I can only get to 5 before it crashes, without slowing down first. it just crashes.

on smaller worlds, I doesn't crash as soon but it's not a matter of if it crashes, but when.

just tested again.

the newest version crashes around 2-10 years.
vanilla could easiely create a 100 year-world before i aborded (when it reached ~10 sec/year +)

replacing raws of vanilla with pony: crash at around 65 years.

errorlog:

will test again. lets see if i get some more informations....

(vanilla was the newest version without any graphic)

Edit: each test showed a crash in less year then the prior. (51, then 2) (miniedit: next tests after testing with vanilla-raws: 3, then 36 years)

vanilla has no problems even creating 2 worlds with over 250 years at the same time (testing legacy and SDL parallel)

The SDL is the testinviroment for the ponytest. standard df with replaced raws.

Engine: 3gh and 8gb ram.

testsettings: standardworld, max hintory, max beast, +1 savagy and min minerals.

Edit2: medium world with 0 titans still crash.

further testing: trying to get the problematic raw-file.
result: valik megabeasts is the problem...

will search the problem further.

Edit3:
cause a crash: Zerg Brutalisk, Jade Destroyer, Rainbow Queen, Carnifex Pony
work: Trojan Pony, Rainbow Anihilator, Zerg Defiler

each test run until year 100+ or until crash to determain their status.

Starting final test: creating myself a at least 150 year old large world with that modified raws in the phoebus-gamepack you provided.

Ooooh, the infamous impoverished word selector error...
Yeah it is not a vanilla DF fault and it has nothing to do with any of the mods features, that's for sure.
The problem lies with the RNG having issues using the new words added to the language files, it tries to use the new words but gets confused somehow and crashes.
Apparently just adding new words to the language_words file isn't enough for the game to work proper.

I think that the error has something to do with the new words in language_words not being added to language_SYM, or that the words have not been added to the civilization word lists.

Try forum searching "impoverished word selector" and see what comes up.

i just copy-pasted the errorlog. Im not soooo much into that area.

but i could nail down the problem (at least for me) on 4 of the 7 valik megabeasts. see edits above.

final test still running.

Does the errorlog specifically state that the megabeasts are causing the crash or what?

If the only thing in your errorlog is "impoverished word selector" then it certainly isn't the megabeasts causing the crash. :\

and wordselector + the normal windstorm and playfun.

crushing elements determained via try and error.
after fixing to problem down to creatures_valik_megabeasts (thought the bug was in valik, so i deleted them all and tested, placing 1 raw-file after the other back) i tested it with each megabeast on its own.

just trojan pony, rainbow destroyer and zerg defiler reached the 100 years without crashing, while the other crashed the game early.
Tested each megabeast that didnt crashed twice easiely reaching that year. last test was all 3 of them together again without a crash and now the creating of my big world... ATM at year 155 with over 300 titans. Everything works fine.

the whole errorlog (but sadly i cant allocate the test to its errorlog)

Yeah, but I genned a 100 year world with all the megabeasts just fine, I am telling you Wurgel it isn't the megabeasts causing the crash.

It is simply an error with the language files.
Try replacing the language_words and language_SYM with the vanilla files and see if you still get the impoverished word selector error.

I never said its not language-related. All i siad is, that the 4 megabeasts seemed to cause the crash (at least for me).
