I got a permission from Narhiril to integrate elements from her Legends of the Forlorn Realm.

Expect a unique set of exotic weapons for each pony race. What else, I haven't decided yet. I'll go talk to my stock of irish-cream, see what it's got to say about it.

Probably. Plus the rare huge ones with armored skin (aka Crater Alicorn).   Have to put thouht into it.

To be honest, I think they might be better off as there own seperate entity. No 'nid or zerg influence, just pure old alicornish goodness with a shield layer and all. Presumably, purples would have a paralzing syndrome, greens have a thicker, stronger shield, and blues can...ambush better?

The way I'm implementing it now, out of 100 Dark Voice units:
-80 are existing Tyraponies and Zerg, as cannon fodder. Tyraponies are numerically superior, because they're more primitive and easier to mass-produce. Zerg are the intermediary link in Dark Voice's IMP experimentation and are no longer being produced (hence the numbers).
-10 are existing infested ponies, those who didn't have the right characteristics to join the Unity.
-10 are Unity. 3/3/3/1 ratio for the three chromatic (not sure how to distinguish between the blue and purple ones in terms of in-game stats... their story abilities would just both translate as increased dodge skill in-game)  and super-charged alicorns. They have special armor and weapons made of voidshard [Forlorn Realm] and are a lot of fun. The super-charged ones, being so rare, should be equal to megabeasts in power.

-60% tyrapony cannon fodder (40 Gaunts, 15 Hydralisks, 5 Hybrids)
-15% Abominations (ponies terribly mutated by IMP, with 4 clawed tentacles, 2 tentacles with toothed maws, and no head)
-15% Infested Ponies (as before)
-10% Alicorns (equipped with voidshard weapons and armor)
  -Azure Trickster (blue, high dodge)
  -Violet Surger (purple, also high dodge)
  -Emerald Aegis (green, super-resilient)
  -Twilight Seeker (Twilight patterns, megabeast level threat)

Oh, and there is always the sorta-black one from Canterlot. Magic "arms" and a horrible syndrome effect? The name "Flagraren Sage" sounds dandy.

Also, a idea I just thought would work great with the mods currant state: Hellhounds and/or Sand Dogs! While how exactly they are forced into the swarm is unknown, they would have strong (Saurenite?) claws, and posiably inorganic parts for Sand dogs.  Metal "helmets" that now pick up the Godesses mind rather than radio frequencies, perhapes?

Mm. There's already rainbow metal, dark iron and unity darktone (LFR Void Shard). That's a lot of supermetals.

As of now, another new feature: magical energy weapon!
-Three new kinds of gems. Two (twilight sparkle and rainbow flash) occur everywhere in small clusters, the third (star sparkle) occurs inside twilight sparkle clusters as single-tile.
-New builging: Crystal Forge. Needs rainbow metal for construction.
-Reactions: to refine the magical gems, to construct weapon components from refined gems, and to construct a weapon from components and rainbow metal.
-Two types of ammo for the weapon: piercer charges and scatter charges (different contact/penetration), made from refined rainbow flash gems.
