That little orphaned filly that I had plans for has died.
Now I'm mad. I don't remember being that mad when anypony else died.

I have set the fort aside and will now proceed to work on the mod.

Supposedly, the chitin of a gaunt is as hard as a diamond. Just sayin'.

According to what exactly? Their armour in the tabletop games has always been rubbish, so I imagine that is probably not canon.

Anyway I found they are apparently 200kg, which converts to around 200,000, maybe a bit less since their armour and weapons may have a high density. Maybe include gargoyles are well? Various poisons are also fairly common among tyranids, so maybe something that uses them. Also genestealers are great and you should include them.

Well it can block LAZERS.

The zerg performed their function, as I planned. My hybrids are proof of this. Now, the last of the Ponies will fulfill their function - in DEATH.

The Dark Voice entity, which does not like you. Sieges can start at pop trigger 4 (pop 110).
The Dark Voice "creature" is comprised of several castes:
-Tyrapony Gaunts and Raveners, which you already met. Only now they are intelligent, and have innate skills at unarmed combat.
-Zerg Hydralisks: the product of Dark Voice's experiments on the tyraponies, resulting in a creature with purity of essence.
Are equipped [or at least, are supposed to be... if the mechanic works] with a special ranged weapon (Needle Spines); also attack with their two signature scything claws. Zerg creatures have tougher chitin than the Tyraponies.
-Zerg Ultralisks: elephant-sized Zerg with four scything claws.
-Hybrid Abominations: bipedal walking nightmares with even tougher chitin.
-Infested Ponies: what happens to a pony taken alive by the Dark Voice. The result is an alicorn with a chitinous carapace, two extra limbs and great fighting skills.

Feral tyrapony pack size and frequency have been somewhat reduced (due to them being absorbed by Dark Voice).

Each normal Pony entity recieved a Blade Pony caste.

The chitinous parts of the Zerg and Hybrid units can be processed using star cap to make superior bio-metals.

Worked out some (a lot of) issues with the Dark Voice creatures. Now their soft tissues don't shatter on impact.

Ehm... I noticed an irreversible loss of star cap when refining zerg/hybrid chitin, fixed that.

Dark Voice bodies work now. They really do. No shattering soft tissues, no abominations comprised entirely of skin (oh horror, oh horror...).

Still not sure how to make chitin work like armor (relative thickness is now muscle 50 - fat 5 - chitin 20, chitin layer is really thick), but they're dangerous.

The bodies really, really work now.
Had to make big and convoluted body detail plans, but it works now. No more zergchitin bones in normal ponies; Dark Voice tyranids, zerg and hybrids now have different chitin materials.
