Ohh, and all the building blocks to make gem-powered energy weapons for the Dimond dogs is falling into place. 8)

As in hard-to-find and quite powerful. Fel Steel is quite powerful, along with the stuff that comes out of the pegasus device.

Had a little more brainwaves. Going to add more complexity to the material system (will try to make bio-alloys more difficult to obtain, as well as other better-than-steel metals).

So, there is now an alchemy lab. It uses transmutation cores (made from refined new gems and Fel Stone, which is found in veins), which are made at the crystal forge, to turn stuff into other stuff.
With a reactiog (it consumes a transmutation core), the alchemist can:
-turn a pile of rocks into a V2 metal
-turn copper into silver or iron
-turn iron into fel iron (instead of a core, the reaction consumes a pile of Energized Fel Stone, which is found in small clusters inside warp stone veins)
-turn silver into gold or aluminum
-turn gold into platinum
-turn silver, gold and a pile of energized fel stone (core still used) into saronite

Will now attempt to make the netherferrite and netherspark deposits more rare, and make the bio-metal making processes more difficult, to encourage the use of alchemy.
And I think the slimelands / rainbow factory reactions will use alchemy now as a skill.

More brainwaves:
-Fel stone occurs in clusters.
-Additional new stone, Neltharite (has sharp enough edge to make rock sword of it, and shear properties of unrefined zerg chitin), also occuring in clusters.
-Nether ferrite and nether sparkstone occur only inside fel stone clusters, as small clusters. Energized fel stone occurs like this also.
-Twilight sparkle and rainbow flash both are contained inside the clusters of neltharite. Star sparkle occurs as single-clusters inside twilight.

Also removed all the [REACTION_CLASS:FEL_FLUX] tokens from ordinary stones. Fel stone is used for this purpose now.

About the biometals:
-Need a larger number of tyranid/zerg/hybrid bones to make a refined compound bar. As there's still the bone stack bug, for now it's  just many stacks needed.
-Refined compound is not weapons grade.
-The bio-metals need several cap gold bars for one biometal bar. Two for tyranid gold, three for zerg rose gold, four for hybrid cobalt gold; plus a refined compound bar.
-"Tyranid steel" was redundant, removed.

After much deliberation...
-Is not possible to make this mineral system work, at least not in the current version.
-Therefore:
-Igneous intrusive layer is now retired, as the least useful.
-Taking its place is the new layer. Yay.

The new layer is made of Taintstone (no special properties). It contains veins of Felstone and Nether Ferrite, clusters of Neltharite and small clusters of Nether Sparkstone and Energized Felstone. Blood of Yogg-Saron is still ubiquitous.
As there seems to be no way to make the gems appear as I want them to, I'm gonna borrow from WoW (again) and implement a prospecting system. As in, reactions that consume some neltharite to possibly yield the energy gems.

...Also, have you read the last chapter of Project Horizons? It's amazing.

More points:
-Saronite is now an ultra-light metal, and it comes in wafers instead of bars.
-Tainted Refinery is a new building that works on saronite-containing ore and Neltharite. Neltharite is prospected for energy gems, ore is processed into saronite strands and accompanying metal bars.
-Saronite strands can be energized (Crystal Forge) and made into wafers (Tainted Refinery) in any order: maybe someone would like to make some Impossibly Cool Clothing from energized saronite?
-An Ether Orb is needed to energize 10 wafers.
-Energized saronite wafers are used to make Sarsteel.
-Sarsteel buffed up considerably
-Additional metal: LFR Damascene

Okay, parts of me wish for you to keep this on hold so that you can spend all your energy on the next version making whatever the heck Silver bullets are made of. You know, because explosive reactions that cause mutating fun all over your ponyfort will be the best thing anyone could make in this game. Taintstone seems like a fine placement, or of course one could always alter candy to have the same sort of properties. Heck, already shares more than a few similarites. The supergems that float in the IMP could be found in the Taintstone, and of course somehow a quick-to-liquify stone layer could be utilised to be, well, taint.

Oh well, might as well get these ideas out of my head.  Darn it toady, why must your game consume so much of my brainpower! You too, Somber!  :P

On more thread-related topics, I am interested in how my next fort (which will be using the RF stuff and the new stone layers) will deal with all the powerful metals flowing in it. Giant above-ground tower made of Rainbow metal, anyone?

I'm going to have to tell you that this is amazing, Valikdu, if only because of how dedicated you are to expanding it. Top form.

New entity, to replace the default Diamond Dogs: Wasteland Dogs. The original dogs are kind of feeble, so I went to fix that problem and add more FUN to the game

The entity has both [skulking] and [babysnatcher].

Two different castes: Sand Dog and Hellhound.
-Sand Dogs use armor and weapons (the evil-looking serrated weapons from LFR). They can sneak.
-Hellhounds are hulking IMP-soaked monsters with metallic bones and claws and a tough hide, and don't bother with weapons. They will fly into a rage and attack upon seeing a pony.

Also, added some new gems to the taintstone layer. Now it looks like an actual layer with stuff inside it.

The six new gems in the taintstone layer are the "harmonic stones". There's two for each material value (5, 10, 15). One of each can be combined in the crystal forge to make a Harmonic Diamond, which can be combined with an ether orb to make one of the special energized harmonic diamonds... and then there's a building called [VATS_OF_GOO]. But that's for the next DF version.

...So, I think I'm mostly done with the materials, reactions, creatures and stuff. On to combining everything, renewing the entities and testing.

P.S.: I also noticed that the caves are kind of too safe for the ponies... so, now the "abandoned" tyra-ponies live there (specifically gaunts, raveners and trygons).

P.P.S.: Tecknojock's language files included.

Unity fares well in arena. I soon learned that they are not fireproof, and as such the single dragon it it killed everything. Hellhounds are epic. My god. They one-shot Ursas.

The new Unity is godly. Your average unarmed Purple can take down swarms of foes (aka unarmed buffalo) far larger than themselves. During the megabeast testing, a Twilight one can only fight off a Trojen. Rocs are about evenly mached with a standered one, with Hydras being surprisingly boss, eating them up like candy. (fitting, considering that in-story they could only pressure them to flee.) Dragons kill them with a firey puff no matter the actual caste(small size- fat= dead alicorn), while they are rather even vs a giant star-bear. They kill any Royal creature they come across, due to there inherent state bonuses. Which means that a Azure one can take down three Royal Buffalo in a few seconds. It is wonderful.

The dogs are interesting. Hellhounds are durable (chiten was a surprise  :o)but do not seem to have the steel-mauling claws of lore. Also, disapointing swarms of them vs Alicorns show that they cannot even hit them. Something must be done. Something.... primal.

Also, something amusing: Apperantly, Reggi was more optimised than what one would think.  Steel Claws are deadly in combat, and much fun is to be had slaying ponies in midflight with what seems to be the next whips of the wasteland. Best use of the knife skill ever.
