Well, never seen that before...
« on: November 04, 2011, 02:45:22 pm »

I got a moody dwarf, who I guess wanted cut gems. So, this being relatively early on, I had a jewler's built and had the cut cut some precious fire opals. The moody dwarf ran to grab one, so I directed my attention elsewhere for a bit. A while later, I notice that he's still not done, so I check out what's in the workshop to compare with what he still needs. To my surprise, no fire opals were listed, precious or otherwise. After a quick search, I found the gem he took on the ground about halfway between the jewler's and his workshop... did he just decide he didn't want it after all, or was there something more...sinister... at work here?

Aaaaand... now it's disappeared. Ah well, I got tin chainmail and a legendary armorer out of it, so I'm not complaining much.

Get a bookkeeper (if you don't have one) and try to track down this gem of yours. Could be a kobold thief that took it.

Well that's an idea for a new vermin.

It is the shape and size of a gem. It lives in walls of gems. Dwarves will confuse it for an actual gem and take it to the fortress.

If one tries to use the gem in a craft it will run away and become misplaced. Though you can track it on the map .. and any dwarf with good eyesight can spot it and decide to bring it back to a stockpile or jewelers workshop.
So what does it do? It crawls to your food stockpile and consumes food. It is uncatchable by cats and thus kind of a menace.

Completely and utterly pointless addition to the game.
it must be done

Completely and utterly pointless addition to the game.
it must be done
And also completely impossible with given modding capabilities.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Eyup. Anyone else looking forward to the update? Vampire infiltrators y'all. Modders will be able to make all sorts of things infiltrate and sneak around the fort.

I myself plan to make a puella magi mod. Because DF doesn't have enough of an OF!!! factor as it is.

Things are going to get fun once alternate planes of reality are added in too...

So what does it do? It crawls to your food stockpile and consumes food.

And slightly drops your FPS.
