Yeah, this place is the best forum I've been on. Although, tbh, it's also the second.

Fuck yeah, man. I've been a part of so many online communities and the absolute ridiculous amount of entertainment, insanity and fervor I've found on Bay12 totally made me fall in love. Even the occasional annoying spambot and spammy teens doesn't phase me. Just imagine them in a bath of magma ;)

Oh, and get on dat Pixels!

Actually, why don't you join my new game? Its on my sig :P

Ah, pseudo-philosophical commentaries at their finest. ;)

One of the things I love about Bay12 is the narcissistic, sadistic, masochistic, horrifying minds we have here.

You're all a bunch of dirty bastard... And you know we all love it. Hahaha

Here's what happens on other communities if I post this thread there;

1. Locked with admin saying "This is not your personal blog."
2. No response, because that forum is now dead lolololol.
3. Sporadic responses on a new forum that people from 2. moved to.
4. Flamebaited by an admin in power with stupid images, so he can give me a "Warn".

Such communities are populated by Elven pansies who try to sell you wood and then declare war if you try to sell it back. That is oddly a very accurate protrayal of what you just described. Heh.

And then bam, DDOS.

Community 4. once held an April Fools where the admins pretended that some 15-year-old portuguese fellow had bought the website and was turning it into a ponies-fan site. (This was before Bronies were cool).

The 11 year olds on the website discovered DDOSing, and attacked the site, thinking they were cool.

Boss-admin of the website went apeshit. Good fucking times. :D

Bay12 to me feels like a giant frathouse full of constantly drunk people messing around, throwin chairs trough windows, setting fire to cars and brawling about, all the time laughing at each other but helping each other if needed (you know, opening beers, throwing up, that kind of stuff). And best of all you guys are all gentlmen (even the ladies) of the best kind, the one that comes prepackaged with top hats and monocles :D

There's a Usenet group that I consider my spiritual home.  There's a MUD chat which I consider my night's entertainment.  There's even a particular wiki that I'd like to think I'm adding to (but, in reality, I need to do much, much, more).  But when it comes specifically to a web forum, this is the place to be.

I've got a (few, sparing, discriminatingly chosen) other permanent presences on the web and various internet environs as a whole, but I think these four mentioned (if not totally identified) are the key ones.  And they all share a very similar user-attitude, despite their disparate nature and varying methods of establishment/policing, which must mean something.

And, yet... or perhaps inevitably..., none of these separate appearances ever really does anything to be associated with the others.  I'm not exactly a private person (although I never intentionally publicise myself either), I just tend to use mental Chinese Walls.

BTW, the title needs a "<hic!>"  putting after it. :)

Awww group hug.

This definitely isn't my personal internet clique (that's my old warcraft 3 mapping clan), but I stay for the intellectual discussions about ponies.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
