Okay. I bet we'll never see any of those ships, and that if we do, they'll be obsolete by the time they're finished.

Well, they do: as ennemy missiles get better, our missiles blockers gets less effective. They also slow our fleet down.

Not necessarily as it can be refitted, and reworked as time goes by to have better weaponry, but the over all ship design will be useful even if the tech is quite old salvos of fifty to a hundred missiles will deal damage no matter what kind of missile they are.

It'll also be a bitch to maintain and cost a lot to refit. Generally speaking big ships aren't as efficient as lots of small ones.

But they're awesome.

We can refit it with a shield later to make up for its out-dated armor, but they are going to have to be really lucky to break through its armor, and the shield once we have it built.

Yeah, checked to make sure.

I hope you haven't done anything really big, adwarf, since, well... yeah.

It's really okay. If you haven't done anything really big, or a lot of things, I guess I'll continue with my turn. If you have done a whole lot of things, I'll just take your turn.

A minor setback, nothing more.
I'll edit my turn onto this post, when I finish it. Or part of my turn, rather.

Posting for a community game pretty much is roleplay, so all's fair.

Also, just an FYI: you can promote a scientist and they gain more research labs.  If you have a 50% energy weapon scientist, but he can only use 10 labs, then you can promote him to use many more.  With realistic promotions turned off, then this is the only way to improve lab amounts.
How2promotescientists?

Go to the officer page (the face on the upper bar on system view) and use the dropdown box to select scientists.

Also, fighters are limited to 10 HS (1/2 of a hangar deck) and anything bigger stops being a fighter, it gives the error "fighter components are in use".  FAC can be easily hangared though, they're the in-between of fighter and corvette.  I made a 20 HS FAC with a plasma carronade.  It's a bomber design, moves like 5,000 km/s and can't hit for shit, so fighters tend to chew them up, but they do a fine job of ripping into big ship armor because they can easily get to 0km range and do 25 damage with plasma.

Well, my entire first year post was deleted because LOL SCREW HAVING INTERNET CONNECTION

so yeah.

shit.a

Basically, finished the research on NPE engines, refitted most ships with new engines, started researching on terraforming module, created new geology team on mars that now have a rating of 135 after making 2 finds, and... kind of about it, now that I think about it. Might have been something I have forgotten, but I'll work on the log for my second year sometime soon.
