Administrative log of Governor Raddish.

The first year went by without much hassle, this year my goals are going to be to get the commercial shipyard finished and to keep our research into laser weapons moving along. At the same time I am going to set up some other research projects to go alongside it with other things I feel we require.

The 2 new Woden class Geological Sruvery vessels were completed today. It came to me to name these great displays of our planets abilities. As I had no idea what the naming scheme for the previous ones were and they were not named before the previous Administrators tour ended I decided to name them the Lodden and the Beaulieu.
They have been given assigned commanders and given the same objectives as the original ships.

Our main scientific expert in the field of Laser weapons, David Cole was today diagnosed with a serious medical problem. For his privacy we are not going to reveal the nature of exactly what his ailment is, suffice to say that it is going to affect his long-term health. We offered him the option of an early retirement so that he could live with his family but he stated that he knows the planets needs are more important than his own for now and he isn't going to be too ill to work anytime soon.
He is also assisting us in finding a replacement for him should he be forced to retire in teh future. He knows of a few names who would be able to continue his work in his stead and we are looking them up and interviewing them.

The search for another scientist in the same field as the Laser Technician Cole has been extremely fruitful, we expected it to take a long time to find someone at the same level but Cole himself pointed us towards his long time colleage and friend Andrew Richardson After a few interviews and the granting of the proper clearance we are proud to welcome him into our scientific establishment.
David Cole has said he is still not going to retire citing that it is better to have two skilled scientists than one.

The commercial shipyard was completed today. It was named the Federal Portsmouth Shipyard, a name I expect will go unknown by many but is the name of a historical dockyard from my country of origin. It's good to be governor, I get to name things how I like, to a degree of course.
It will probably need to be expanded over time but for now we don't even have a ship that we can construct in it. I am working through the possible designs sent forth by the research staff and have concluded that we need some new components designed if we are going to have a good merchant navy.

I will put any info I think is important for the next person into a text document with the file when I finish, as well as stuff that is more of a roleplay nature like some of the stuff I have written here even though it's probably of little use to the next player.
Also I am going to put this new info into practise from this next year on, just as soon as I work out a roleplay reason to add it. I had already done this one when you wrote that, I am not sure if I am playing fast or if there is not much to really think for ages over this early in the game.
