I'll take a turn!

Well, that is if you decide not to cycle of course.

Only rating 91, sadly.  They're on Luna right now, lookin' fer minerals.

Also, I've got the game done, just writing it up right now.  Nothing really happened, which kinda saddens me, though.  XD

Governor's Log, January 1st, 2030

Its been nearly four years since I wrote in this journal.. not much has happened.  The Faering class Fighter was sadly, incomplete.  Most of its systems are designed, it just requires a small enough laser and a beam control.

This fighter will operate from Earth to defend it from any external, or internal, threats.  With a 1.2 billion km range, it can easily defend Earth and its colonies.  I estimate that its range will be reduced once those final systems are built, however.

Once the fighter was finished, a PDC designed to store it in base was needed.  Twenty Fighters per PDC was what I planned, with enough armor to protect the base from any external threats.

The fighter's schematic, although incomplete, is here:

Alas, my term did not accomplish all that I wished to do.  The geological team is currently on Luna, searching for minerals.  No ships besides two Wodens, and another two being built were made, although a military-grade cargo ship and a colony ship were designed.  It would be beneficial in the long run to design a commercial ship instead, but these will suffice until that has been done.

The Einherjar class Supply Vessel can act as a small cargo ship, fuel tanker, and maintenance supply ship, although it is not particularly dedicated at any one of those tasks.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Freya class Colony Ship is meant to act as a small colony ship, able to ferry 20,000 passengers per trip at a fair speed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Both ships were designed to take advantage of the 8000 ton naval shipyard we have built.  However, both of these should be more of a temporary thing until commercial freighters and colony ships can be built.

And so my term ends.

Okay I have downloaded it and will start my turn soon.

EDIT:

Administrative log of Governor Raddish.
Dated:  1st of January 2030

My first day as Governor has involved a lot of scanning through the details left by my predecessor.  It seems that we have a good basis set up for the empire, a good amount of progress was acheived during the first 5 years of our great Federation.

The main goals I have in place will be to finish our first laser armed close range ship design that was set up by the previous governer and to get a commercial shipyard built and upgraded so we can start to manufacture some larger commercial vessels when the time comes for their use.  I realise it is a long term project but getting the infrastructure for it set up in my tenure will allow for it's use in the future by others.

We are also currently producing infrastructure that would allow for population to be placed on another planet which is not naturally habitable for us.  I will continue production towards this goal and possibly by the end of tenure we might have set foot on Mars with a small colony.  Once the geology team is satisfied with what they can find on Luna we will also move them here so we can exploit the red planet.

I will update my log as my tenure continues with my progress on these goals.

Log entry ends...

Both added.

At the rate we're starting to get people signing up, I think it would be best if we did more than just the 6 original players.. as long as we can keep interest of course.  Unless we get around to where we ran out of players, then we might cycle through again.

Nothing to stop us from making another community game.  In fact I might be in for a 2 player campaign if someone wanted.

As in, two empires or taking turns playing one empire?

Taking turns.  Attempting two empires would be difficult at best.

Maybe two races that are treated as close allies but actually one empire, playing via "desktop login" method...  but I specifically meant taking turns here.
