With the third tournament coming up, the gladiators are ready for battle, and all are eagerly awaiting their chance to rise in the rankings and increase their power. Oddly enough, people are reporting gobbling coming from the arena on the dawn of Day 18.

As the first two combatents are led into the arena blindfolded, they can feel the temperature rising. As they pass through the doors, they are greeted with the sight of a single long, skinny pathway dangling over a pit of lava.
Certainly, dodging and charging are going to play a larger role in the arena today.
Fekod was AWOL for much of the day, but was found just in time to fight Sodel. Opening slowly, both dwarfs danced around, the only hit being a slash to the right foot that tore only fat. Roosevelt, however, just kept pressing and pressing, charging 3 times and knocking the dwarf down and away every time until, when he was right up at the edge, Fekod went right over the side, screaming all the way, and was burned to death in the lava.
Sodel advances and wins 179 Urists in what was by no means an upset.
There's not even an animal called "Giant Ice Wolf", so you can't have that. I would ask that you perhaps do at least a little bit of research next time. Giant Toad leather used as temporary replacement.
Dastot, who was kept up all night by dreams of giant ice wolves, fought Pan, who very acutely found out Administration's errors. Pan quickly put Dastot on the ground with a blow that shattered the right ankle.The mandrills then teamed up to distract the dwarf while Pan proceeded to bash the dwarf in the head, tearing the upper spine twice, before a shot to the brain jammed the skull through it.
Pan advances and wins 161 Urists.
Can't use two swords and a shield in combat, so bronze sword dropped.
Clara walked into the arena "looking pretty" and Tersr walked in holding two swords, one of which was confiscated by the guards.
Tersr's UNNAMED BADGER NUMBER 2 quickly got a charge from Clara and a boot through the brain to start off the battle.
Tersr also killed a badger, charging Ratel right into a fiery death, but then Clara, swinging away wildly, made him flinch back in reaction right into hell's heart.
Clara advances and wins 219 Urists.
I must say, I hate the new name. Personally, I like having people with last names, but you're the boss.
Matthias quickly changed his name, and Flint swore a lot as he limped into the arena. Matthias quickly struck first, tearing into the right upper leg and the left foot and putting flint on the ground. Soon after, a shot to the lower right arm largely disabled it, but Flint managed to keep his shield and tried to strike back, only getting a pommel strike to the head from Matthias that got deflected. Soon, Matthias started hacking off limbs, taking the left foot, right lower leg, left upper arm, and finally the head off in dramatic fashion.
Matthias advances and wins 106 Urists in what cannot possibly be considered an upset.

For 4 gladiators, the road is over, but for 4 more, the tournament is just starting. Although the result of each battle was not too surprising, the fact that the higher ranked gladiator won every time is, especially after the past few days have been upset central. Of special note is the lava pit, which has already given us the results of two battles, and looks to be even more influential as the 3 of the 4 advancing gladiators have at least one pet that will further crowd the tiny area of combat.
Rankings wise, Tersr has continued his long slip from the top and dropped to 4 while Pan has been slowly climbing and has finally broken into the top 4. Flint has dropped, but considering his Net Worth that was bound to happen eventually.
The tournament continues for some tomorrow, but of even greater note is the growing sound of gobbling. The reasonable mind would ask, "What is going on here?"
