It seems that no one really understands the new way of listing when tournaments are, and so they've been changed yet again to simply say when the next tournament is. For example, "Day 20 Over - Tournament Day 25". Those that were confused today have simply been pitted against whoever I think they'd want to fight.
With the tournament tomorrow, the atmosphere is electric, and the oddsmakers are going crazy over the early release of the pairings. Note that the release by no means bars any late entries. As always, it is 1 v.s 2, 3 v.s 4, etc.
With the sun rising after a mixed day for the gladiators, Day 17 begins, and the crowds are ready.

Clara proudly limped into the arena, if that's even possible, to fight Karrk again.
In what was really a side show, the Jaguar bit apart Ratel the honey badger, knocking it down whenever it could and taking no hits in return. It took just a page for the skull to be shattered and the brain bruised and the badger struck down.
Karrk charged Clara early, knocking her to the ground and effectively winning the fight with a quick stab to the left hand, forcing it to sail off in an arc. Although the two then proceeded to fight with shields, blocking every blow for a long time, it was only a matter of time before the tigerman stabbed the right hand and tore enough nerves to force Clara to drop her shield, and after cutting off her middle finger on the right hand and a left upper arm, she bled out.
Fekod fought a gorilla, and he fought hard. He struck early to the head, almost ending the battle, but he only bruised the skull. The gorilla then proceeded to charge continuously, barely ever stopping and preventing a blow from Fekod from even thinking about coming. Eventually, the gorilla actually got a hit when the dwarf was on the ground, biting and then shaking the dwarf around by the left upper arm, severing it through and forcing a drop of his lead mace. From there, it was more pages before a similar attack to the right upper arm forced a loss of the copper shield and a lot more shaking. Eventually, the dwarf could take no more and bled out.
Fekod loses 75 Urists.
Not satisfied slaying jaguars was Flint, so instead he decided to drop a reminder on Administration. Oh, and fight a gorilla. Flint bashed the gorilla quickly, fracturing the right front leg, but a quick gorilla charge brought him to his knees and a disabling bite to the right lower leg kept him there. The human could do little, and the gorilla kept biting, eventually shaking apart his hammer arm and forcing a dropping of his hammer. From there, it was a race between the pain of the Gorilla and the blood of Flint, and the Gorilla won.
Flin loses 45 Urists
Leveling striker to 4 costs 40 Urists, not 30, so 10 Urists deducted. Also, just in case you don't know, striker only effects unarmed combat such as punches and scratches.
Dastot, not deterred by his earlier loss, fought Naka again. Hacking quickly, he chopped through the left lower leg and dropped Naka to the ground. Soon after, a shot to the right foot chopper it clean off, and a shot to the head, shattering the skull and tearing the brain.
Pick any non-megabeast leather for your reward.
Don't have enough money to buy a pine short sword (14*1 >
so third level of armor user not bought, and pine short sword bought instead, netting you 16 Urists in return.
Sodel took his new Elk, swore that it had said something about carrying a bigger stick, and fought Cephin the druid. Cephlin got in an early shot against Sodel, striking quickly at the right upper arm and jamming the shoulder through the muscle. Bragheera and Roosevelt quickly ganged up on the grizzley, but left their owner alone to get stabbed in the upper body, bruising the lung and thee lower body, bruising the guts. Eventually, the pain grew to be too much, and the dwarf lost conciousness, and soon a strong punch brought about his end.
In fact, the pets did manage to overpower both the grizzley and Cephlin, but not before Sodel died, so Cephlin wins.
I've said this like 5 times already: You can't wear leather armor and a breastplate, so leather armor not used.
Jack slashed early and hard, fracturing a bone in the left front leg and severing a nerve. After two more debilitating strikes to the left rear and right rear leg, the jaguar was on the ground and the dwarf went crazy. Quickly biting the jaguar in the left rear leg, he shook it around viciously, but it was a kick to the head that jammed the skull though the brain.
Whoops, thought you'd wanted to face a gorilla. It is my fault, but changing the order of the battles surely can't have too much of an effect, right?
Matthias returned from his hunting expedition a day early, and he immediately challenged Karrk. Pulling off a very aggressive move, he charged Karrk, and actually put both of them on the ground, but Karrk struck first, taking apart the left hand and forcing his battle axe to the ground. Not taking any chances, he then sliced off the right lower leg and tore the pancreas. Soon the Jaguar and Karrk had surrounded the dwarf, and he was torn to pieces, eventually falling unconscious and having his skull shattered and brain torn apart.
Matthias, the last person to still not have lost to a non-player, finally loses.
The battle started really slowly, the dwarf only managing to chip the right front leg while the mandrills bit the Gorilla and prevented it from doing anything other than gyrate wildly with monkeys hanging off of it. Believe me, it was quite a sight. Eventually, a shot to the head tore the upper spine, and the the next shot from Pan jammed the skull through the brain.

Also a bad day for gladiators today, and losses abound all over the place. Perhaps it is luck, perhaps it is chewing off more than can be chewed, but it was just a bad day for gladiators, going 3W5L on the day.
The big news today is the announcement of the Tournament, and a big one is Tersr v.s Clara. Fekod and Dastot are going to have a tough time, but upsets are, as the arena has shown, always possible.
With
the tournament tomorrow, the fans are getting excited, and some are even contemplating placing side bets. The rumors of something special continue to abound, but Administration is keeping its mouth shut.
