Also, turkeys go "gobble", at least, here in the States they do. No telling what those weird European birds do. Normal fights during the tournament are also held on the platform above lava, which won't be taken down until after the day of the finals.
With the sun rising over the horizon on day 19, some gladiators are getting out of bed with that feeling that the night was rather long. It was also rather difficult with all the gobbling going on.
With the tournament going into the semifinals, the stage is set for some colossal match-ups, and no one knows what the results will be.

As a note here, bladed weapons are bad against equal or greater strength armor, so a copper sword would be nigh useless against bronze armor, but it would be great against leather.
Pan nervously counted off her advantages and those of her opponent while Sodel simply strode into the arena with the confidence of a champion.
Jim continued to under-perform by getting charged out of the battle by Roosevelt with a shot to the guts. Bragheera was similarly hateful of the mandrill and quickly scratched the right front foot clean off before Roosevelt tore into the poor beast by shattering its other front foot, what we would call its left hand. From there the leopard took over, biting his left front leg clean off and watching Jim bleed away.
Bob did little better as he was quickly punched in the middle spine, tearing it apart by Sodel. Soon, the heart was pierced, the legs were cut open, and his blood was all over the ground.
Pan, however, didn't sit idle and tried attacking a distracted Sodel, charging him away and onto the ground in surprise. She continued to attack the now stunned dwarf, but blocks and misses conspired against her until one ill-timed roll by Sodel turned him more into a puddle of fat than a champion.
Pan advances in an upset and wins a treasure chest 399 Urists!
Sodel advances to the third place round.
Matthias, ever worried about Ratel, fought a distinctively emotionless Clara, who had a chance to supplant Sodel at the top. Striking quickly, he surprise Ratel with a charge, sending him into the drink and painting the rest of the battle with the screams of the badger. Clara made a perhaps bad choice and struck at the upper body with the pommel, wasting a perfectly good chance to strike from behind and only bruised the right lung. The two then engaged in a flood of blocked shots, but a lucky shot by Matthias severed the left foot and put Clara on the ground. From there, it was only a matter of time until another shot landed, separating the right upper leg from her body and her blood coated the arena.
Matthias somehow wins a major upset and 303 Urists!
Clara advances to the third place round.

Bemoaning his precipitous drop in the rankings, Tersr limped into the arenas and fought a gorilla. he was quickly taken out of the battle as the gorilla charged him and put him on the ground, but his two unnamed badgers simply bit the gorilla and held him away from the prone dwarf. When he finally got up, he quickly took advantage of the fact that the gorilla had fallen unconscious from the pain of being bitten by badgers and slashed off the head.
This was no battle, as Fekod quickly managed to shatter the bones in the right front, left rear, and right rear legs in quick succession and put the jaguar on the ground. Soon after a shot to the head jammed the skull through the brain and a "W" into the win column.
Flint, showing little regard for Administration, took out another car and swore revenge before fighting a jaguar. Charging quickly, he simply bounced off after hitting and bruising the pancreas, but he was soon back and bashed away with no fear as the jaguar tried to get even one shot in. Soon, a shot to the head jammed the skull through the brain
Jack lost a spelling bee and fought a Jagoor. Then he wised up and fought a Jaguar. Quickly spilling the guts of the jaguar, the dwarf continued to take out a tooth with the pommel. It didn't take long for the dwarf to get back to real business, though, and 3 blows later the skull was shattered and the brain torn.
Dastot, complaining all the while, fought a gorilla. Dastot quickly hacked apart the two front feet and put the gorilla on the ground. He then fractured the middle spine, disabled the left rear foot, and shattered the skull and tore the brain.

After a day of upsets, Tersr continues to drop as Matthias takes over fourth, but otherwise the rankings remain stable, even with the loss of the top two. Pan is getting there, but being two wins behind does not help, a sign that skipping tournaments, even one so long ago as a first, has a detrimental effect on one's standing in the rankings. Then again, logic and a basic understanding of math also says that.
Then again, Pan and Matthias are up for a massive growth in Net Worth, but the rewards for third and fourth cannot be discounted. The rest of the field, however, is languishing behind and should consider some inter-gladiator combat, the rewards for which far outstrip the rewards for a single combat.
As a side note, I just noticed that Dastot and Flint are locked in a deadly fight for sixth place, with only Dastot's win against Naka really seperating the two.
With Day 19 over and the finals looming, the fans are storming the Arena, and they all hope for the termination of that blasted gobbling noise.
