The crowds are getting antsy, and everyone's packing the arena hoping to see the conclusion of the first team tournament. Day 9 will surely kick off with an enormous bang.

After doling out the rewards, the two champion teams gather to collide in a massive duel among champions. Administration silently mourns the end of the least time-consuming series of days ever. The battle between the two major races of the arena has begun. This may be the most high-ranked battle ever, consisting of 4 of the top 5 gladiators in the rankings.
In a replay of the first Gladiator v.s Gladiator battle, Clara struck quickly, hacking apart Pan's hammer hand, forcing her to drop it, but Pan managed to get in a useful action, charging the human ferociously and forcing both to the ground. Sodel took the advantage and quickly slashed apart the right upper leg, disabling it and forcing Clara to stay on the ground. Sodel now was distracted by Matthias, but Pan managed to strike Clara in the middle spine. After a bit of waiting, the paralyzed human fell unconscious and succumbed to the pain. Pan quickly took the advantage and struck down the human with a quick strike to the head with her buckler, jamming the skull through the brain.
Matthias tried to take advantage of Sodel's distraction by Clara, but his hacking from behind was glanced away by a copper gauntlet. The human then tried taking out Pan's sword arm too, but it was already out and chopping the right upper arm didn't do much. After taking out Clara's leg, Sodel returned against Matthias, taking out the human's liver. After trading dodges, Sodel got his act together and knocked the human to the ground and stabbed his left upper leg, tearing many nerves and tendons. Not satisfied, he stabbed the left foot off and disabled the other leg. The human retaliated with a hack to the left lower arm, but the battle was rapidly slipping away, and after stabbing the left lower arm off, Sodel was well on the way to winning. Pan joined in the chop-fest, but it was Sodel who slashed off the left upper arm and right foot whilst watching the human bleed out on the floor.
Pan & Sodel win the tournament in a (very) minor upset! Both may now challenge for the title "The Victorious" and the team wins 140 Urists from winning the match and 392 Urists from the tournament. Both to be used as desired.

One more chance to name the badger.
Tersr, eager to get back into first, proceeded to fight a gorilla. Slashing the Gorilla in the left front leg and fracturing the bone, the competitive portion of the battle soon ended as when the gorilla charged Tersr, Tersr was knocked back, but the Gorilla was knocked out. Somehow. From there, the Honey Badger became enraged and tried to bite the gorilla's head off, failing 5 times to kill it, but tearing lots of fat off. Tersr eventually got tired of waiting and simply shattered the skull of the gorilla and tore the brain.
Fekod sought revenge against Naka in the second match against him. The battle began slowly, with the dwarf focusing on the much weaker enemy that was the ice wolf, quickly jamming its skull through the brain after some minor bruising. During his clinic against the wolf, Naka rather childishly kicked the dwarf in the roe from behind, tearing the skin and bruising muscle. The dwarf came back with a shattering of the right thumb and soon charged, managing to bruise the head on the way down.`After bruising the left upper leg, Naka fell unconscious, and Fekod took his time jamming the skull through the brain.
Fekod gets his revenge! And leather armor of his choice!
Demoralized from his encounter with a jaguar, Dastot murdered another wolf. 'Nuff said.
Fine. Here's how it went: The battle went along slowly at first, neither side managing to do much damage, but when Dastot put aside his axe and punched apart the right rear paw, the wolf was doomed. After one charge, the wolf was unconscious, and the skull went right through the brain.
Actually forgot to credit you 40 Urists, but it doesn't matter much.
Jack, quietly making his way up, challenged Naka to a duel, hoping to get into the great game of the Arena. Starting quietly, with both sides missing and being parried, Naka scored the first hit, stabbing his bronze spear through copper gauntlets to fracture the bone and causing massive bleeding. After a slight scratching caused by the ice wolf, the Dwarf fell unconscious, and the battle was lost. One more stab to the head shattered the skull, tearing the brain.
Literally just getting into the arena in time, Flint challenged a jaguar. Continuing the string of cowardice, the jaguar quickly fell unconscious, taking only four blows to put to sleep. It wasn't long before two blows tore apart the upper spine and jammed the skull through the brain.

Perhaps this should be bonus commentary. We all know gladiators love to hear me yak.
The rankings once again got shook up, with Sodel proving the unreliable nature of leather armor and the effectiveness of copper armor (at least, when it's used against copper weapons.). Fekod's victory against Naka puts him in ideal position to rocket up the rankings if he can just shake his bad luck in tournaments, but Tersr seems to be not so much stuck in the mud as he is being dragged backwards by a monster of the swamp, dropping 2 places in 2 days, though he's still undefeated.
Certainly, the next tournament is going to be interesting, but only if everyone manages to show up.
Rumors abound about a
zombie invasion in 3 days. Oh, the mystery. Technically counts as a tournament for challenge purposes.
