I placed 35th, but probably would've been in the top ten if they hadn't added in a stupid rule about putting everything into improper-fraction format.

My answer: 2.5. Marked incorrect. Comment: "Sorry, 5/2".

Because when people ask how long something will take, they say it will take five halves of an hour.  ::)

We reported to our bosses, they told us to go get the plant for the Drow-also, they pointed out three gates of powerful magic where we might find something to defeat the aboleths. We're heading to a place called the 'Gloom Gardens' now, I believe.

Then we beat up a Weregnomeshark. That almost ate Zako. After Edio pushed him into the water.

Thats my vague recollection. I'm sure others can fill in more.

Last session, the party reported into their boss. Also present was Count Ulfric of Unterhold, Jarl Pelof of Gnomheim and Lady Olana of Merica. They gave the Steward the map they got from the drow and were instructed to go ahead and get the plant that the drow want in exchange for the location of the drowish capital and to take an ambassador with them to the drowish abbey.

The Jarl informed those present that their demon-summoning turned up the following information about 3 locations of intrest for the crew to check out:
-A potent source of necromantic power (not a planar gate) somewhere in the region that the drow have marked down as "the Gloom Gardens" on their map. Since you have to sail through the Gloom Gardens to get to the assassin vine preserve, the party has decided to go there first.
-A planar gate suspected to be linked to an alleged Formian outpost in the west. Formians are the ant-like outsiders found on the outer plane of Mechanus.
-An unidentified location in the distant north. Neither the gnomes nor the demons they summoned are sure what sort of magic is going on there, only that there is some. Probably not a planar gate either, but you never know.

Finally, the party found a gnomish wereshark who, once defeated and returned to his gnomish form, starting raving about being descended from some sort of lost gnomish "Expedition" that sought to travel across the planes to Celestia only to miss and end up in what they think to be the Elemental Plane of Earth. He also thinks that the crew are figments of his imagination and that he's just dreaming and refuses to beleive that he's a wereshark.

Oh, we also pretty much failed to split up the loot. One thing in particular that is hard is the axe represents over 50% of our loot so far.

I am thinking it would be best to avoid splitting the loot until we can more easily count it as part of the package.

Yeah. I can sorta understand what you mean, but 5/2 is somewhat easier to work with then 2.5 I can understand that you would not need it, but when giving it to others to work with it is best to make it as simple as possible yeah? Basically I feel your pain (I have been marked down for the same things before) but I understand why they did it.

Eh, I do math to get the right answer, not so that it's easier to work with. If you can't handle a decimal .5, you shouldn't be scoring tests at the state math team competition. And besides, another problem wanted the area of 7 consecutive right isosceles triangles. My answer: 571.5 cm2. 'Correct' answer: 1043/2 cm2. I've never liked Math Team, really. It's all about stupid arbitrary rules that undermine the entire point of doing math, and also make it even more tedious.

It's got the Undead Slaying/Bane enchantment-those are the same thing. Sort of useful-for that Necromantic gate we're coming up on. Yeah.

I claimed it for Loaw, but there's some disagreement on that issue.

It is +1 undead slaying.

And I don't know if there is any disagreement with you getting it. Just the math behind what other people get.

Edit: It also glows near vampires.

That's pretty badass. I mean, not many of us could use it, but it'll have to be balanced out later by whoever gets that having less of a share later. A debt, as it were. WBL is a harsh mistress.

I'm perfectly fine with Dwarmin getting the axe, it's an upgrade to his stuff and he can use it better than any of us can. It was either let him use it or sell it. Either is good with me since that thing is useful/expensive.

We certainly can not sell it. The +1 alone makes it worth holding onto, the undead slaying may come in a lot of handy.

The debt thing is what I am getting at, but it is hard to correctly do with the amount of gold we actually have. Thus the "not even both thinking about it for now" line of thought I am thinking of.

Considering the fact that we are heading towards a necro energy source I think we'd best keep the axe.

@Barbarossa: This isn't the place to discuss math. On an unrelated note... I know that .5 isn't that big a deal, but math gets harder. Having decimals really messes with you if you need to continue using that answer for other things. That's why it's a rule, because it helps later. BTW 200 level university math would be downright painful if you threw in most decimals. Calculators aren't allowed.
