Alright. For the time being, it looks like the ship is going to have 1 crew quarters, 4 Officer Quarters, and 1 Captain's quarters.

3 Bunks of 3 each in the Crew's Quarters. Total of 9. 2 Bunks of 2 each in the Officer's Quarters. Total of 8. Then 1 captain's quarters.

Spoiler: Base Plan map (click to show/hide)

Fool is currently redesigning this. #11 is going to become integrated with #3. The ship will be sails/propellers, so there will be a furnace somewhere in 13 for operating the propellers. It is also metal clad.
I would think that there would only be a single ladder leading down belowdecks, or they will be front/rear not side/side, but that'll be up to Fool I think. I would certainly hope they both have hatches. Right now it appears that we will have the Catapult, the Ballista, and the Boat.

Please note that players will have roommates in the officer's cabins. Red and Edio are looking to share a room right now, but I imagine it can be readjusted to whatever. There's only 4 rooms and 8 players. Well, 5 and 9 if you count the captain's room. If ya don't like it, well I did specify that the Hold needs the parts to build an interior wall that can be shifted to create a living quarters section belowdecks to hold an army in case we have need to transport one. I imagine you can just sleep down there. :)

We can establish stuff like that here in this thread once fool's got the ship designs done.

Notes from the session:
The Fool gets 500 bonus XP for providing us with an excellent boat map, as pictured above.
Kogan gets 500 bonus XP for helping with server issues.
Grek gets -500 cool points for not checking to make sure the IT department had the correct ports open on the Univeristy wireless.

Boat related:
We decided on an Ironsided Caravel propelled by Enchanted Sails and a Magmin-fueled Propeller. The Magmin's name is Ixie. It was decided that the party would not have a crew along with them. Finally, you get a Ballista and a Catapult gratis.

Timing related:
People have expressed an interest in moving the session to Fridays at 2130 GMT (ie. 5:30 PM on the American East Coast). Is anyone unable to make that time?

Rulings related:
The Naga race has the following finalized stats:
o Large (long) size, having reach 5' and taking up 10' of space.
o 30' land speed, 20' swim speed.
o +2 Dex, -2 Con.
o Low-Light Vision
o 1d4+Str Constrict
o +2 to move silently, Climb and Escape Artist.
o +1 Natural Armour

Characters are required to have a minimum of one vowel in their name. This requires that the character formerly known as "G" decide on a new name.

All hand-related amputations and glowing palm diseases are to be considered Omake and ignored.

The Profession Skill is allowed, but not recomended as you will not be given time to use it to make gold. There's a world to explore out there!

Edio's naga (who uses the carrying capacity guidelines for a Large quadraped of strength 8) may be mounted by any medium sized or smaller character weighing 233 lb. or less. Edio's naga (or anything else, for that matter) may not be "mounted" by anyone at all during the campaign and I will be very disappointed in you if you attempt it.

As much as I'd like the experience I didn't provide the original map of the Caravel. Someone else posted that.

@Kogan: That's double-banned.
@Fool: They can post in the thread to claim the bonus XP, then. You'll still be getting yours, assuming you post the reworked version of the boat.

Other news:
The players should probably vote on the name of the boat. I'll make a poll once nominations are in.

I'll throw in the name of the ship 'Swift'.

I also call bullshit on the 'must have a vowel in name' part.

It was me who provided the base map, but only after Fool promised to draw it.

I nominate for the Ship's name...

"Midnight Gleam"

*raises hand*

I only have so much time on Fridays, and I'm kind of hosting a game then.

Not even herself?
We aren't hermaphrodites.

I have a D&D session IRL on Fridays that ends at 6 PM. It's another half hour until I get home from it though.

Eh... Ship name... Perhaps the Naga.

The Tempest or Tempest's Edge.

Why tempest or temptest's edge?

Midnight: It's always dark underground
Gleam: The ship is made of metal.

So the Midnight Gleam because as she comes into range of a light source, it reflects back out of the darkness.

Why do ships' names need to make sense? Hell, we could call it the Flying Pig for all I care.

Flying Pig

I change my mind. Name the ship this instead.

Flying Pig works. If you are gonna have something that makes no sense, it shouldn't have anything to do with Anything.

Flying pig for me too.

The Tempest because there's practically no winds underground, and we'd be intruders into a (most likely) never before contacted world. We are the edge of something that will soon envelop this new underground area.

Also, I like the name.

Edit: I like the idea behind the Midnight Gleam. Maybe just a small change of words? Also, I'm firmly against the Flying Pig.
