I have no problem with that. I don't think I'm going to be much help with that though, I've never forwarded past that. He could always ask them (tech people) to try and open the port if all else fails.

The IT department is unwilling to open a port for me unless I fill out a shit-ton of forms. May be doable for next week's session, but not this weeks. We're currently looking into getting someone else (one of the players) to host the server for this week or to just do the first session over IRC or something.
