Gah. This is silly. Normally scheduled sessions don't happen, and I can't make it to the rescheduled sessions.

You can ignore DR with any energy damage.

But I'm a rogue, and I can't do magical spells and shit! I suppose with the properly enchanted weapon, I'll be able to get past damage resistance a lot easier. Put that on my wish list Grek: A weapon that does energy damage, preferably something that I can actually use effectively, like a rapier, shortsword or dagger.

Ah, so my sword should have been doing more damage than that? Is lightning energy?

What sorta sword were you using that does lightning damage at our level?

But yes. Lighting (And acid!) is a energy type.

I spent all my money on getting a +1 Shocking Pata. I spent the remainder making the other one masterwork so I could give it the same benefit. It's a matching pair, made for dual wielding. Hence, I had no good armor at the start.

But on the plus side, I realized that taking Fighter means I have access to non-Druid stuff. Duuurrrrrrrrr.

Meaning I can use that longspear and armor.

How can you even afford that? A shocking Pata would cost over 8000 gold. I am fairly sure we did not start with that much.

How long from this post until the session, if it's at the normal time? (I've always been late.  :P)

It's only a +1 enhancement, not a +2 (which is the 8000), which means 2000 + 350 (masterwork) + regular price.

Quote from: SRD Magic Weapons
Shock +1 bonus

01–70   01–10   —   +1   2,000 gp
71–85   11–29   —   +2   8,000 gp

My biggest question would be how it functions underwater. Heheheh. Shock/Flame/Frost were considered, but fire and electricity were the closest to the idea I have for her, and fire wouldn't really function underwater... unless it's magical?

You need at least a +1 on a magic weapon.

So +1 shock = +2 total

@Barbarossa: About an hour, assuming the server goes up.

@Theoboldi: We currently have 6 regular players, out of the 5 that I had hoped for. I'll edit the first post if we start accepting more people, but we aren't right now.

@Edio: Shock weapons do indeed cost 8000 gold. All magic weapons have a minumum enchantment bonus of +1, and adding shock costs the same as increasing it by another +1. Magic fire weapons are surrounded by boiling water instead of open flames when submerged, but that has no mechanical effects.

...? The Magicky part gives the +1 enhancement. You start with at least masterwork, then you apply enhancements. The cumulative enhancement bonus determines the price of the bonus.

Edit: Ninja'd by Grek. I didn't know you could have just a "+1 Weapon". I thought it was more along the lines of "+1 X of Y".

Heh.

Can we get up the server early btw? I figure anybody waiting to play might be willing to come in a little early, and at least we can make sure there are no server issues this time.

Anyway, if that is indeed the case, I suppose I should bring it to the attention of my other DM. :P
