It was one of those things that I may as well post while I was posting anyways, but yeah. Let's not post things about math any more. Seriously this time.

Or we could have it as a side conversation. It's not killing anyone. The axe should definitely be kept, it's worth more than the formulas would have us think, due to the added utility of being near undead.

@Barbarossa: This isn't the place to discuss math. On an unrelated note... I know that .5 isn't that big a deal, but math gets harder. Having decimals really messes with you if you need to continue using that answer for other things. That's why it's a rule, because it helps later. BTW 200 level university math would be downright painful if you threw in most decimals. Calculators aren't allowed.
I use decimals all the time, and I have taken three semesters of calculus. I love decimals, and I don't use calculators. (It's faster to perform operations decimals than fractions.)

I seriously doubt I am further in math then you despite my age, but I just don't see it. You need to use fractions for so many numbers that you can not represent with decimals, and of course when you are working with exponents and imaginary numbers they are also so much easier to use.

I mean, negative exponents alone seem to justify using fractions over decimals.

But, like I said, I suspect you are further in math then I am, so perhaps you know better. Eh.

PS: Exponents are my favorite numbers.

Eh, it's a matter of preference. I think they're both useful, just for different things. That said, saying that 2.5 =/= 5/2 is just stupid.

So... do we have a healbot in this party, or is that me? I have some healing powers in my Life mantle.

A math e-penis contest?  Sweet!

I am a math major who currently has an Associates degree and is about 4 months away from my B.A.  I get paid to tutor people in math and physics.  I reached where you are in calculus my first term of freshman year.  So, unless someone can whip out an even bigger math e-peen, my expert opinion is this:

Round that shit off.  Seriously.  You are taking a number that was chosen very inexactly and dividing it exactly to give it to players.  Those players will then toss the money around in a casual and inexact fashion.  Plus we will probably get richer later on.  Precise calculations are kiiiinda silly, just round that shit off.  Or just give everyone an a decent chunk and leave the rest of the money in the ship emergency fund.  This should take you like five seconds to figure out.

I could heal once I get more spell slots to put the healing spells in.

Excuse me if I offended you, I was merely indicating that I had taken math courses above 200. Also, you cannot round in Math Team, or you do not get the right answer. This was the stem of the conversation.

(Although I wonder which Freshman year you're talking about, high school or college.)

The conversation didn't offend me, but us taking an hour last session bickering over the division of the loot certainly did.

Yeah. Loot dividing is for the forum. We should have had it figured out by then. It was insanely annoying that we spent such a long time debating it.

Bah. If you don't like doing pointless and uninteresting number crunching why play DnD?

Edit: Also, you can't "round that shit off" because 1:you can't go over 2: That does not answer what happens to the axes share 3: Some third thing.

Why not convert the remainder into copper or silver pieces?
