Today, the expedition set off for the first time in the Midnight Gleam. Soon followed some giant honey bees off to an assassin vine. After getting mangled by the vine for a while, they managed to extract themselves from the entangling plants, kill the assassin vine from afar and then enter into the shrine that it seemed to be guarding. Within, an altar to an elven fish-god was found, along with strange and unknown shrines.

XP: 300 to everybody present.

Loot:
17 16 unusual black berries, of the same sort found on the assassin vine. Thought to be goodberries after one healed someone upon eating it.
5 bottles of unusual black wine, observed to produce Faerie Fire on anyone that drinks it. One bottle has been opened and tasted.
Two assassin vine seeds, both currently in the possession of our rogue.

Next session will feature further exploration of the newly discovered elf-shrine.

I would like to point out that it has been pointed out to me that I had a holy symbol the entire time.
As a Samurai, Kenzcla follows the Code of Bushido as a religion. The holy symbol of Bushido would be the tools of the warrior knight. Particularly the Daisho.
As such, I DID have a holy symbol. Maybe it failed because they were training weapons?
Oh well. I'm sure they will do just fine for turning undead at least.

All you missed was a mangling. We didn't get that much in the way of loot or XP, as you can see. Mostly because we all failed on a puzzle encounter and spent all night getting caught in the vines.

Also, I rolled amazing. Like, all above 15 except for one, multiple 20s, etc etc. I was on fire! Not literally.

Also, I found out some of our fellow players can be judgemental hypocrites. Yay.

And, Next session I assume we'll start 'dungeon diving' for real, so I hope you can attend. :P

To be fair, it wasn't much of a puzzle encounter. I got entangled and grappled all before my first move. My only choice was to bite my way out, and even then I failed to chew through the tough vines (Because I was grappled AND entangled). That was round 1, and the encounter started by a general entanglement.
Round 2 I was choked out before my turn.
Round 3 I was falling unconscious into the water.

That's where the majority of the party who could retreat did retreat.
None of our more nature-orientated people spotted the threat in time for it to be a puzzle encounter. It COULD have been one, but it wasn't. More like a trap we had to survive.

I hope you weren't taking us seriously. I was doing it more jokingly.

However, I think I'm going to drop out of this one.

Hypocrites? How so?

(Also, way to be a judgmental double hypocrite there.)

Gee, intraparty conflict and I haven't even shown up yet? Why can't we just be friends?
