I've got another of the arrow-to-the-throat stories. I've lost so many characters to a random bolt to the throat that I pretty much write them off the instant I see it happen. I don't remember this character's name now, but she was a legendary swordsman by the time it happened, and I just stumped straight into a bandit camp with my peasant army in tow. The boss calls and and does his threatening. I take one step toward him.

Turns out he was high level crossbow wielder, and one step toward him, he puts one right through my throat, bypassing all my shiny armor in one shot. So I make it my personal mission to make sure he goes with me. 12 dead bandits and one boss later, I'm wondering why I haven't bled out yet. Turns out, I was just pale, and the bleeding had already stopped. Good recuperation saved my life, and that was the only injury I took during the fight.

Then I pull the bolt out, and nearly bleed to death before it stops again. Fortunately, she went on to have a long career, with a nice big scar across her throat.

I was fighting a Bronze Colossus with about 6 other people. It grabbed me by the throat and knocked me out. I was almost certain I was going to die, but then I woke up and saw the message "The spearman stabs the bronze colossus in the head, chipping the bronze and tearing the soulgem!". I soon realised that almost everyone was dead. The only uninjured guy was the epic speardude.

Soulgem?
You playin' a mod?

Oh, wait, stories...

Oh, yeah, Nightbeast fight.
On the ground (Usually spells death for my Adventurers) And still getting pummeled.
Luck shot, Night creature drops.
A few dozen attacks later, I get lucky and head shot the Night Beast.
And I survived.
Then I got surrounded by wolves and drowned.

This is a side-effect of dwarven animal training (hit animal with hammer until it forgets that it hates you, then lovingly cuddle it).

I'm not your average Bay12er. I care about my drunken midgets.

May Armok have mercy on my soul for posting this here, But I had an adventurer who took an arrow to the knee. Unfortunatly, he spends most of his time sleeping.

Third day of adventuring. I feel like a BOUSE after learning how to defeat all of my foes with ADVANCED SUPER SPEHSUL COMBAT!!11!!!one!1

Just sleepin' out in the middle of nowhere...

You get the idea. Bogeymen everywhere, can't take them all on when I realise my poor human avatar is heavily bruised EVERYWHERE.

I start running in the night, occasionally dodging the intercepting bogeymen or two, turning back once in a while to knock them off their feet every now and then, when I hear a badger sow become enraged...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That badger took a crippling blow for me.

*Edit, I appear to have run into badger county, so far 16 23 badgers have died defending me £:
Going cross country across 7 quest log sized tiles... The amount of times badgers have saved me now is unbelievable.
the badgers defend you what sorcery is this!

Well, he has a human name, so he's likely not being an elf, although it could technically be an elf outsider with a human name...

I make Spellcrafts!
I have no idea where anything is. I have no idea what anything does. This is not merely a madhouse designed by a madman, but a madhouse designed by many madmen, each with an intense hatred for the previous madman's unique flavour of madness.

My helmless adventurer passed out while being attacked by bogeymen in the middle of the night. Bogeymen, who can kick in an adventurer's skull through an iron helm if sufficiently lucky...and they often are. Several, pounding my adventurer for hours before dawn broke.

I once had a maceman companion. As we were venturing into a cave, we were attacked by a giant bat. I wasn't doing to well, so I stepped back for her to jump in and get a few hits on it. Turns out, the giant bat started to rip off all of her limbs. Both of her legs, her left arm, and also gouged out her right eye. Then I just strangled the giant bat to death and threw it across the room. I had to wait for her to regain consciousness for a tick so we could travel back to a town. We did successfully without her dying from bloodloss, and now she just crawls around everywhere. I think about putting her out of her misery at moments.
