Not sure what you're talking about here...so far as I remember, ships that lose all of their HP are repaired for free upon entering port :-\
I lose one, I lost it. I think only story-class ships are able to come back after being nuked. Reason I farmed early-game with the Daisy as my front line.

ETA: I'm not seeing it. First I intentionally lost the LOTUS. It returned at the next port, free of charge. Then I switched the flagship to the DAISY and lost both the LOTUS and the PANSY. Both returned, free of charge. I don't ever recall this happening in my hard copy of the game either, which is a good thing considering how much damage can get thrown around in the later game. A full fleet with a good barrage can one-shot just about any of the player's ships, especially during boss battles. Making ship loss permanent would result in hours of grind that could be undone if a random encounter managed to get some good shots in.

Just tested it myself. And now I feel like an ass.

I think I know why I always mis-interpreted it as an ironmode. I usually lost my ships during an event battle and there were no bases available to restock the lost ship. I kept thinking it was full-on ironmode. Well, that's a load off my mind. But sill, losing a craft sucks in those kinds of events.

I think I also mis-interpreted it as such since I never really lose any ships, and I just kept hitting checkpoints that didn't replace, and didn't bother checking thinking I lost a ship for good. I only thought for the time being that only story ships had that privilege.

I've been playing like this for half the entire game. :facepalm:

No need to feel like an ass. I'm mostly running off of memory myself. You'd be surprised at how often I have to re-write stuff because I had forgotten how one event or another played out :P

For instance, when I invaded Balik's base? I had a long explanation for melee combat written up and ready to go, because that's what I was expecting. Then I actually played that section and there was no combat to be found. Boy was my face red! XD

Do you guys want a mini-update with highlights of grind, or would you rather wait for a full-sized update, knowing that it would take longer?

Either way, we need names! Currently, everyone wants the battleship, and a few have expressed interest in replacing the LOTUS. Don't worry about theme names for the battleship, just think of something impressive.

I'm fine with waiting. As far as names go, if we want to go with the mythology theme that was supposed to go to cruisers, I vote for the name Tannhauser. Though I believe that mountains was mentioned also, so I'd vote to calling it Fuji.

Why not something about Russia? Elgavan planets and ships have a pseudo-Russian theme, Novgorod and Zvenigorod are real Russian cities...anyone have some interesting history or mythology from that region?

Interesting choice. I like it.

Currently grinding, and holy crap. Just about everyone has leveled up so far, and still not enough money for a Borodino :P
It might be smarter to purchase a different ship and then make money while following the plot. I should have enough credits to get that battleship during the next update.

Part 13: Mostly Filler, Sorry

Welcome back! Last time, Yuri and friends arrived in Central Elgava, delivered Zakhar safely to the hospital, and got a bunch of new ship blueprints. Let's continue...

Cutting it short today. At least, I call it "short", but I spent more time on this update than the last two combined. I hope y'all are happy.

Ok folks, choices! First, where shall our new "friend" Ian go? Please try to put aside your perfectly rational dislike of him and place him somewhere useful. Or not, up to you :P

Second, shall we explore some new planets first? Or shall we go on a long and arduous journey, picking through the billions upon billions of people in the Lutsk Sector to find some random old guy?

As for going places, obvious answer is Geriatric haystack explore some new planets. Loot can be found anywhere, so we obviously want to go everywhere :P
