Alrighty.

I like the one I have, but it's not specialised enough. I suppose it could solve a lot of problems, but not in a smart way.

...say, if I were to try and sneak an item onto a person, would sleight of hand be the skill used?

And what classifies what as a certain kind of weapon (a link would save you a ton of effort here if it'd take too long to explain)

Ta.

Yes, Sleight of Hand is one of the more useful skills, as it applies to pretty much anything sneaky/precise you can do with your hands (IIRC). Heh.

In general, you aren't going to be seeing too many different weapons. Throwing weapons are things you throw (duh), melee weapons are things you hit other people with (duh), energy weapons are exactly what they sound like (laser pistols and such), projectile weapons are things like conerifles and traditional slugthrowers. It's all pretty self-explanatory. That, and I've noticed that most classes with proficiency in one Violence skill tend to have proficiency in all of them, though most have slightly better stats for one or two forms of combat.

Well that's just a result of how all the stats are rolled. There's a base value for each of the six main skill areas that gets used for each of the subskills in that area. Troubleshooters get an intrinsic +4 specialty bonus to energy weapons, and then six subsequent bonuses to random skills(+4) which are paired with disadvantages (set to 1) in the same skill area. It looks like this generator gives one free specialty without an accompanying disadvantage as well.

It might be interesting to do a campaign where we roll for the main skill areas but choose our own six specialties and write in narrow specialties, but that might end up being too much work for too little payoff.

Of course, once you're done reading this post please report immediately to the nearest termination booth. Have a nice daycycle!

Hmm.
If I wanted to replace blown off limbs with weaponry, would it use bioscience, bot maintenence or mechanical engineering?

I'd say Medical, but that sounds like no fun.

you could it depends on GM, but i would prefer cyber replacements with implanted weapons, not go ohh i like this laser rifle think i will jam it into my stump untill it stays :P

and it would use bio science and mech engineering, but most of the time you would be buying replacements and then using that to fix, once again at GM digression

Hey Scriptwolf, I had to return my PC to factory settings, would you mind please sending me my character sheet back?

P.S How'd I turn off spellcheck in this box? Red underlines are already annoying me, thanks.

That would be interesting, I'll try to do that next campaign/squad.
