I will make an artifact platinum warhammer encrusted with rose-gold, normal gold and copper. Menaces with spikes of platinum, adorned with hanging rings of obsidian, oak and ash. Encircled with bands of bronze, dolomite, nethercap and donkey leather. On it is an image of Sam B and the Roc Windhowls the howling winds in aluminum. Sam B is striking down Windhowls. On the item is an image of Sam B and elves. The elves are being massacred. This refers to the pillaging of Woodlove.

Hell - if you can make that, I'll render it.

Fantastic.  I would get the software, if I knew where to get it and had the patience to learn how to use it.
P.S.:  If you have time... Dwarf Bone Spear with Spikes of Dwarf bone.

Say, I'm a bit late here, but I'd suggest Blender if you want a free (as in price, but also free-as-in-freedom) modeling software. It's capable of very high-quality animation (these animations were made in blender, for instance), and it's also GPL'd if you like to stick to free/libre software.

I'm currently looking for some good ideas - anybody got a silver longsword decorated with black diamonds?

... anyone?

EDIT: I forgot about that gem flask - making dat now as a side project :).
EDIT_BEFORE_POSTING_EDIT: should the flask have dwarven wine or beer in it?

Wow, thanks! You can put anything you want in it; wine, beer, sunshine, etc.

P.S. What color is dwarven wine? Purple? White? Red?

In my current fort is an adamantine artifact statue of a giant eagle, relating to the settling of that eagle in the mountain range. I imagine that the statue is actually absolutely huge, and the eagle is in flight, but supported only by the twig it is placing in the huge nest below it. By virtue of the weightlessness of adamantine, such a statue would be possible... though, having realistic supports don't matter anywhere else in DF, so it's not as if it matters, hah.

Also, I figure dwarven wine is probably purple, the color of plump helmets.

Finished: Weatherwires, the Last Mountainhome. A tragic mix of Children of Men, City of Ember, and, uh, magma.
Stymied: Correspondence from Syrupurns, a prematurely ended narrative, told through annual updates.
In Progress: Roomcarnage, a fortress clinging to life beneath a haunted glacier.

Oh, I just got a new, fairly decent artifact- Seigedgloomy, the water buffalo greaves. Decorated with llama bone, and menacing with water buffalo bone.

Unfortunately, it was a possesion. So... No new uberbonecrafts. Pity. Some masterwork bone armor would be cool when I get my army going in that fort.

Wouldn't dwarven wine/beer be a healthy dark yellow? Plus through the ruby flask you can imagine just how pretty that would look :3

A marble floodgate with an image of the founding of the fortress carved in marble, and with spikes of marble.

An iron warhammer with spikes of iron and onyx.  Circled with bands of silk (i assume these are at the handle).

ive gotten in the habit of replacing my chief medical dwarf as soon as he gains any notable skill in diagnosis.
It's really funny watching them do unnecessary surgery because of a wrong diagnosis.
the conditions were bad enough to turn a dwarf who didn't care about anything mad, that's pretty hardcore.

Sounds awesome. Will do.

I'll render it - but beware - the bone-on-bone-on-bone will not provide much contrast, thus making the image not as epic.

What kind of detail on it? That would be disastardly hard but I might do that sometime. Or was it not artifact?

Dwarf Bone Spear, Dwarf bone spikes.  Oh, almost forgot.  Decorated with hanging rings of gold.

Again the bone-on-bone thing, will be slightly bland, but will do it anyway since spear ain't hard.

Had an adamantine spiked mace, bands of raw adamantine, hanging rings of werewolf leather, images of somebody somebody the god of rage, lakes and the weather in general looking sombre.

Doing that too.

Wow - I have a long list - but I'll churn through it in good time.

K - Gem Flask is up but there's a little problem - I'm having a problem rendering a hollowed and filled structure already 4-point chamfered with a hole in the top. It's a bug with the renderer that's causing a problem, so I had to make the ruby opaque till I fix it.

Working on... *checks list*

Adamantine spiked mace!

Ohnoes, spikes. My enemy.

I'll get it done anyway.

If you had the bones all different  shades... I.e. some weathered down bone, some looking too fresh... Would that give it some character?
