Noble exhibitionist
« on: February 10, 2007, 06:17:00 pm »

I searched the bug forum for this, and I'm not sure if it's a bug at all, but it seems weird to me.
I got the king the other day (also weird, because I thought you needed a high quality road for him to come). I looked at his general profile, and was surprised to see a "Pickup Equipment" job. I looked in his inventory... and he was completely nude. The king travels IN THE NUDE. I don't know what to think. Is this an isolated incident?

If you've dug deep enough, the king will come on his own.  This is Bug 267, though that one is written in terms of adventure mode.  It's the same king -- the king should come with clothes if you have offered clothes in the caravan, unless it's the king you get from digging deeply enough.  Anyway, I'll get to it in time.  I just haven't gotten around to default clothing if the offering clothing falls through.

Oh, so offering things actually has an effect now? I guess I'll want to send a full set of masterpiece steel and an artifact weapon for the king or queen; I want to see a legendary royal dwarf, and if subjecting his majesty to wave after wave of zombie elephant is the only way to train up combat skills, then so be it!

(I suppose I could have a legendary farmer king instead, but that just doesn't strike me as being quite as awe inspiring.)

Don't be absurd. We trap the elephant zombies near the wilderness, and then transport the cages to the king's bedroom.

Make sure them elephants don't trip on the plush carpetting you most likely have laid out for the king's bedchambers.

Dwarves don't use carpets, they just line the floors with worn out cat leather dresses and spider silk mittens.

You really need an ornately carved floor, though; it gives the piles of tattered narrow tunics a nice hilly texture.

That's if you don't mind dwarves falling on their faces everytime they walk into the king's bedchamber (uhhh, to ogle at the queen maybe?)
