Nicolai and Jarod

You dauntingly raise a hand. [4] The Witchhunter eyes you wearily and after you voice your question, he glares at you dangerously

Magic is no thing to be played with halfblood. Not for your kind and not for our kind. It is dangerous and heretic and must be cleansed from the world. Only the One knows how to use magic wihtout getting corrupted and even the thought of possessing such an item is rather unsettling in my eyes. It only proves that your kind has been tainted by the Enlighted Allfather.

more or less happy about the answer you and the other mercenaries leave preparing for a good nights rest

A week later

you are approaching The Throat. The third biggest fortress in Kilrados. The biggest being the Capital, directly followed by Blackrun and that only because The Throat was built just to withstand siege from the Cinnamon Road and not from Kilrados. As you come closer you are seeing the massive walls spanning the entire Canyon it was built to guard. It is said that the red stone came from the blood of the Rabien troopers trying to climb the wall. In reality it was because the stone mined contained enormous amounts of hematite. Even the gate seemed to be built by giants, although it looked strange. Almost...as you approach closer you realize that what seemed to be the gate is actually a massive hole in the wall.

Fell Magic... the Witch hunter spat a big green directly at Nicolai's feet.

The closer you come to the fortress the more you see of it's destruction. Along the road graves had been erected, upon them mere wooden crosses seeming to form a silent accusing honor guard. As you reach the it is opened by a group of young men. Their armors were new, and their eyes were soft.

Even their leather is reeking of fresh recruit.

Swanson

you cautiously proceed through the cahtedral-like room only to end before a massive wooden gate, which is opened barely a hand-breadth. You barely manage to open it enough to squeeze through and as you turn around, [3] you envision a long hallway in which walls corpses are bedded. Dwarfish corpses. Hundreds of them. At several points along it's way it seems to intersect wiht other such hallways. You guess that this is an old dwarfish graveyard. As you inspect the corpses properly you gasp. They seem to be conserved in some way and look like they are asleep. And how beautifully tasty they look...those ripe red cheeks and those fat well-nourished bodies. You shake your head to get clear thoughts again.

Jamal

[3] As you ask you clan they tell you that they don't want to go towards the accursed city and rather continue towards the farm. The next evening one of the women brings enormous amounts of meat to the campfires. As you ask her from where she got it, she reluctantly tells you she managed to trap and kill some strange animal. [1] Happy with this answer you and your kinsmen happily chew away. The next morning you find that one of the kids has gone missing...

Jones and Kobal

(( this is somethign you two must roleplay out. Jones definetly got something of worth for Kobal, may it be notes of a dwarfish ruin or some hints of forgotten knowledge hidden somewhere...it's upon you two to decide ;) the vaguer what you think you may find the better...))

Jack

You follow the blood trail to end up in some kind of sacrifical room or grave...or maybe a prison? You are not sure, but in the middle of the room is a large coffin upon which the bleeding unconscious body of old Ben bleeds into a triangular opening atop the coffin...

Passing the Witch Hunter Nicolai calls back. "Keep your eyes open. I'd hate to see you die from watching one of your own."

Head into the fortress ignoring the new recruits.

Swanson suppressed his glee and continued deeper into the burial grounds before heading back with a corpse through the sewers. His happiness and desperation overshadowed any suspicion as to why the corpses had been so well preserved...

Jarod looked at the recruits with a cold gaze. They were still green, it was obvious, and he did not like the fact that one of the Kingdom's most powerful fortresses was guarded by young soldiers. Most of them had never killed anyone. If an enemy managed to storm the walls, they were going to break. It was inevitable. He followed Nikolai, ignoring the Witch Hunter (he did not like men like him at all), watching the hole in the wall and wondering how powerful was the item.

"Yes Sir, I am."
Jones takes the offered smoke, and fiddles with it, unsure.
"I have investigated many ruins, mostly dwarven, there is little else after all, and have found many things, mostly useless, but then, there is something..."

"Nothing is useless, sir" The Orc said,"There are only things that haven't revealed their use"

Swanson

You look around a bit mroe and realize that there must be at least a hundred more corpses. You grab one of the dead dwarfs. You pant as you heave one of your shoulders. You didn't realize that does guys had been so heavy. [5]as you walk out you notice that the runes had bgeun to glow read but apart from that nothing happens.

It took you quite some time to get the dwarf unseen into your shop but finally the corpse is arranged in the kitchen.

Jack

you carefully approach the coffin. As you peer down you stare into a horribly rotten face. Which seems to be alive! It stares at you while greedily licking the blood dripping down. THe next moment the world seems to shift upside down and everything goes black.

As you awake you can make out the blur of a man being held up and screaming at top voice by a another brown blur, propably the thing from the coffin. From the tune of the voice you can make out that it's Heinz that's screaming...teh next moment everything goes black again...

Wake up sunshine...

you open your eyes and stare into the face of the beast...

Finally...you humans are soo...frail...

Swanson looks over his tools and makes sure that they are all acceptably sharp before butchering. He has never made much dwarf before, so he hopes it will not be too tough. Deciding for a change of pace, he decides to make something a little more sweet. Cupcakes, perhaps?
Make savory and dessert pastry, begin selling to the hungry populous.
