The forgotten beast Amsir has come! An enormous hairy tarantula. It has thin WINGS of stretched skin and it belches and croaks. Its mint green hair is long and straight. Beware its poisonous BITE!

It can fly!!

We had our cavern wall open for it. It took down two recruits.

What! There's an obsolete charcoal maker still in his work! We have magma tech and he still thinks it's useful to make charcoal! Maybe soap.

Our metal insdustry is at a halt.

The Forgotten Beast Cish has come! A huge eyeless coati. It has a knobby shell and it has a gaunt appearance. Its gray hair is patchy. Beware its deadly blood!

We've been constructing the cargo elevator. A new stillery has been placed adjacent to it. Also a new kitchen and a dining room are placed there with a connection to plant granary.

It is 9th Galena 895

The Forgotte Beast Quadte Iroocul has come! A gigantic humanoid composed of petrified wood. It has a pair of long antennae and it appears to be emaciated. Beware its deadly spittle!
'
Asėn Mengzedot Thocit Bisek, Anderzv2, has killed 5 goblins and a giant bat so far.

The Forgotten Beast Aditha Adisifina has come! A great eyeless crab. It has lacy wings and it squirms and fidgets. Beware its poisonous vapors!

I lost two dwarves.

13th Timber - We've expanded the granaries and pottery of the fortress and also constructed a gem vault.

Ahh! That was it.

Would you like to pick up the save Jilladilla?
I think someone should forbid passage through the hospital with 2 forbidden doors.

well i suppose, and here i was laying in my bed thinking "what am i gonna do today?" generally during that time i listen to awesome remixes on youtube while i think... well im gonna try my best (oh and ps, i tend to have a very bad habit when i have access to steel: i ignore every other metal... no iron/bronze/copper weapons, its either steel or candy, i also tend to completely neglect metal non-weapons/armor, ill try to kick that habit for now...)

edit: WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG TO DOWNLOAD?!? WHY!!!!!!!!!11!!!!one! :/

edit 2 with updates!
17th of Timber
None have noticed my arrival here several months ago, and with the previous overseer stepping down,
I have revealed myself and stepped up to the position

And WHAT IS THIS?!?

WHO LET GOBLINS TOUCH MY BEAUTIFUL CREATION?!?
I'LL DUMP WHOEVERS RESPONSIBLE INTO MAGMA FOR THIS!!!

However in my time here I realized a great limitation of The Array: it can not be restarted easily,
so my first order of business is stability and putting a system in place that is capable of jump
starting The Array!

I suppose this will probably be The Arrays first task... we need that iron for steel...

OOC: Who turned on limonite in the stone menu? doing that allows limonite to be wasted on rock pots
(66 limonite boulders were wasted this way) if its off it'll only be used for smelting! and
i'm pretty sure thats what we want it to be used for... (Back in character now)

18th of Timber
Being slightly more sane than my last ruling, I am ordering the smelter room to be expanded, a spare
glass furnace devoted to gathering sand, and a sand bag stockpile being put down there.
I'm also going to order part of the frozen river to be dug out so we can build a dam for it...

Whee--sooo many F.B. in there: amazed militia is still holding out even with the poison gas.  I forgot to mention on my turn, but there is also a F.b. in the cavern with the demonic fortress, but it is a steam-based weakling with no special powers. So be not afraid

I am the same way with steel, but I do remember to use copper for barrels and bins and such, since all the steel is going to breastplates and greaves.

i go full steel armor/weapons, with candy thrown in here and there, tend to use bronze for bolts (poor gold and platinum, they just gather dust in my forts)

26th of Timber
Gave the dwarven caravan some of our lower quality mechanisms in exchange for wood and steel armor...
I put my trust in steel... Why bother with anything weaker when the goblins can match it?

5th of Moonstone
Ordered several weapons grade metals and tower cap, ceder and alder logs as well. (OOC I like tower
cap and alder)

9th of Moonstone
Ordering 10 steel mail shirts and breastplates to be made, hopefully now these fools won't get hacked
to pieces...

12th of Moonstone
I just realized that we lack a proper dining room... A problem I am about to rectify... Yes... a grand
dining room it will be!

In other news, the liason told me that they reall want cheese, backpacks and thread next year...
Well at least they aren't demanding steel...

15th of Moonstone
The jumpstart device is complete! Now we just need to wait for the river to thaw to test it...

26th of Moonstone
The digging out of the dining room is almost halfway done, and the walls are being smoothed as its dug out...
Not much longer, my fellow dwarves, and we'll have a proper, and unique, dining room!

1st of Opal
There was a Cave Croc attack today, but our leopard/surface croc defence system easily defeated it

4th of Opal
Well the dwarven caravan just took the worst possible route out of the fortress: They have awoken the
sleeping guardian of the lake: Stos... I have a really bad feeling about this...

6th of Opal
After killing a speardwarf and a camel belonging to the caravan, Stos returned to the lake, and
resumed his slumber there.

_________________________________________________________

Stos's blood is white, not red, that fight was pretty one sided there, and seriously after the fight
Stos just went back to where he was staying, he really likes that lake huh?
The dining room is of my own design, I'm pretty sure it's unique, NO ONE COPY IT!!!
Just a hint to its design: it involves windows, and statues, but thats prolly expected
so far none of OUR dwarves have died :D

Ah...Stos, you yet survive, perhaps I will make a totem out of you yet.  Awesome improvements to steel. We DO need a dining room. Can't wait to see the array in action.

check a few pages back, towards the end of my turn, for its output, thing is pretty damn powerful, jumpstart mechanism is set up so either the main wheels or the jumpstarter is powering the pumps, the lever next to said jumpstart device swaps what is powering the pumps
(oh and p.s. the jumpstarter does not work in the winter, and will apparantly jam anything hooked up to it, important to not let that run the pumps, its meant to start it, not maintain it)
also, Stos is our local lake guardian, im going to (maybe) refill the lake (the well is slowly draining it  :()
I beg you: DONT KILL STOS!!!  :'( (is it wierd how he came during my turn, and here i am defending him  ;))

You know what, he really likes that lake, so im going to give it to him, and let him keep it, it was there he settled, and there the noble guardian stays...

Maybe we should consider uploading a map of The Inn of Drowning to dfma? The Array needs to be completed first and put to its full power.

I have a question. In an earlier post, it mentioned something about a dwarf being posessed by another dwarf. Is this possible without some DFhack?

No, it's heresy
