I took control of the fortress on the third of Limestone, 893. The state of the fortress disturbs me. We're basically living like troglodytes down in a cavern system There are no bedrooms, no dining room, nothing civilized down here! My first act as Maester here is to get at least a warehouse and hospital going. Seriously. I have a friggin BROKEN LEG and I'm still working. Also, it seems like the previous overseer has used a lot of wood on a frivolous waterwheel array. How are we supposed to take care of seventy-two dwarves IF WE ONLY HAVE TEN BEDS?!

In no particular order, and with few indicators to those who just arrived and/or didn't pay attention, here are some thoughts:
-----
That dwarf was one tile away from being screwed. Also, that doesn't apply to everything, building destroyers path to your buildings, extra sensory things will beeline for your dwarves, and some don't need to see dwarves at all, they just know where your dwarves are.

Hey, GreatWyrmSilver is awesome! Too bad Anderz died...and to a giant bat...hm...Anderz sacrificed himself for Iton, maybe?
Anderz didn't sacrifice himself... I sent him, swore he could handle it, and the bat mostly WRESTLED him to death... :(
Not strangling, other stuff... prolly one of those moments the PRNG hates you... :(
[/quote]
I know, it's just that I like trying to justify stu...wait. The difference between Anderz vs Giant Bat before my computer went caput on me and the actual battle? Anderz had a pick in mine, and less experience, but still managed to beat the bat...
MY DECISION IS VINDICATED.

The Inn of Drowning should provide a 5x5 room 6 meters high for every citizen.

The Grand Dining Hall should be at least 30 meters high, if not 100 meters, and be potentially water-trapped.

Planned to make three guilds size of 8 guild members to craft stone, gem and metal. Additional guilds to these are textile guild and masons' guild, that will provide stone blocks for construction needs. Together these guilds would employ up to 40 dwarves. Then the Inn should have a military as we all know.

Stone might be to be gotten rid of using dwarven atom smasher (bridge)

well iton knocked your bat out, crippling it, the RNG  was favorable to you there, Anderz fought a full strength bat on my end...

3rd Limestone -our population is 72 strong.

6th Limestone -Where's the surface door lever? Oh! there it is. Below the stairs.

10th Limestone -We have started to construct a stairway next to the main cavern

14th Limestone - I've tried to employ more dwarves as miners to create a better infrastructure

15th Limestone - I explained my immigration group

*Me
*an adequate fighter
*a talented gem cutter
*an adequate weaver
*a novice glazer/fighter
*a siege engineer
*and a child

8th Sandstone I ordered a new cavern to be dug out.

9th Sandstone A snatcher! Took one of our babies because the mother was spending time at the river drinking.

21st Sandstone The construction is progressing.

Food supply:
 *Meat 232
 *plant 821
 *seeds 268
 *other 165

25th Sandstone The food cavern is completed.

6th Timber We  need to craft trade goods fast. The caravan should be around anywhere near. We also should consider creating a stone crusher to get rid of the stone.

23rd Opal - The trader wants spears, meat, leather waterskins, and windows next year.

11th Obsidian - We have achieved only  a 15% unemployment for a short while

17th Obsidian - More goblin snatchers

28th Obsidian - An ambush! We have lost our beekeeper, diagnoser and a few craftdwarves.

Äsen Mengzedot got his left had wounded fighting off the goblins.

9th Slate - A mega-sized immigration!

You can grab LoudWhisper's turn after mine if you're quick. See where I posted the link to dffd? Quickly download it and claim your turn before LoudWhisper's whose turn is beginning really only tuesday or tomorrow.
