One of my dreams has been to make something worthy of fanart. One of the largest indicators of having done something impressive is having people make art based on it. Fo:E, Past Sins; each of those stories were awesome enough for people to make their own stories and art based in those universes. Over in the Nuzlocke community, the really good stories would get other people drawing stuff for them. When I write something and don't get any comments, it kind of makes me feel like the whole thing was too mediocre for anyone to notice, and getting fanart is the complete opposite; someone noticed my stuff and thought it awesome enough that they wanted to do something with it themselves.
So, that's why you are awesome, Sean. I'm glad we're interesting enough to attract your attention :D

I like Debesh's head. The thinner neck gives him a wiry appearance that really adds character.

Seriously though, no idea. Might just be the sketchiness.

As for the neck, it's partially hidden by the mane, partially by the beard, making it appear thinner.

Also, I believe if I change the hue on my edit a little and add wings, I can get an alternate ending to "Dragonshy". Well, except the dragon would be a mite smaller

"Where are we?" David asked. He part of a crew on a panzer, and was with his friend Erdmann.

"Not sure. Town to the north, I'm not completely sure what is in it, but it doesn't seem human. Oddly colorful. Sort of like technicolor, I'd imagine."

David sighed. "Gerold, drive us to it. Let's communicate with the inhabitants. Maybe they can speak German."

"We were just in Berlin, I doubt they can't!" Gerold said loudly, as usual. "Hell, I bet they are German, and Erdmann just cannot see shit."

"Just drive us over, and try to piece things together." David said. "Please. Wait, what's that?"

Fluttershy felt the ground rumble beneath her. A large inposing grey thing trundled over the dirt road, just stopping near her. She couldn't even gasp in fear. She didn't even know what had just happened. Then, the top of the creature popped open and a strange creature on two legs stood on it, seemingly coming out of the creature.

"Hallo. Wir sind ein deutsches Panzer-Team und - warten. Was bist du?" The strange creature asked in a strange slightly ugly language.

"Uh... I'm sorry but... Uh..." Fluttershy really couldn't say anything. How do you even respond to a large metallic creature rolling up to you, and another creature popping out of it's head asking... something in some weird language?

The creature raised what appeared to be hair just above it's eyes. On it's brow. Eyebrow?

"Oh, so you speak English?" Said the creature in around the same accent as the strange language. "How strange."

"Was ist da oben?" Shouted a very loud and rather rude sounding thing inside. It practically echoed "Ist das pegasus freundlich?"

"Ja! Das geflügelte Pferd zu sein scheint! Und sprechen kann!" The thing yelled back. He then looked to Fluttershy again. "My name is David, what is yours?"

"Fluttershy." Fluttershy felt a bit scared.

"Fluttershy, how would the townspeople react if we drove in?" David asked, while smiling a sympathetic smile.

"They wouldn't really like that." Fluttershy replied.

David seemed to consider this, and then hopped back into the metallic thing, and drove off.

Such a strange day, thought Fluttershy. Then she fainted.

OT: Well, there goes my theory that the series isn't the dying dream of any of the mane six.

Rainbow Dash was horribly confused as to how this very large metal bird had something inside it which was covered over by a mask, had pen and paper and a mean attitude.

"FUCK OFF" Was the simple wording of the paper stuck to the window of the huge metal bird. "RESTRICTED AIRSPACE DUMBASS HOW ARE YOU EVEN KEEPING PACE WITH THIS JET FIGHTER"

Rainbow Dash was barely keeping pace, unlike what the note said about the "Jet Fighter" which she assumed to be the large metal bird. It was very fast, and went through clouds like they were candy floss. Dash's pride felt a bit wounded by that.

"Hey, that's not nice!" She shouted over the sound of mechanical screaming. This Jet Fighter was really loud.

As it turns out, the thing inside had heard her. He took the note, quickly wrote something and pasted it on the window.

"NOT NICE DOES NOT ALWAYS = NOT GOOD US ARMY IS NOT KNOWN FOR POLITENESS THAT IS BRITISH ARMY AND THEY ARE PUSSIES NOW PLEASE GO AWAY"

And then, it sped away faster then Dash could fly.

Col. Faust: Okay, recon report.
Sgt. Wilkerson: Surrounded by forest, not sure if Charlie inside, over. Seems to be a lot less humid and sticky then Vietnam, over.
Pilot Kanski: Seems to be town nearby. A lot of plains. Encounter with annoying bird thing.
Col. Faust: Requesting specifics on bird, Kanski, over.
Pilot Kanski: Pony shaped, winged, pegasus if I ever saw one, over.
Col. Faust: Wait, I think you have radio interference there. Did you say you encountered a pegasus?
Pilot Kanski: Yes sir, and it was quite rude. I think it was slightly confused over why I had flown over the town.
Col. Faust: Right... And, what was the town populated by?
Pilot Kanski: Creatures of a similar persuasion, over.
Col. Faust: Describe the creature you saw that was confused by your fighter.
Pilot Kanski: Rainbow hair, or a mane if that's the correct term... Coat of blue fur and tattoo of cloud with rainbow lightening, over.
Col. Faust: How did you react to creature?
Pilot Kanski: I informed it that the airspace I was flying in was too close for comfort. After it shouted, I informed it that the US army is not polite but that doesn't make us evil, over.
Col. Faust: It spoke...?
Pilot Kanski: Yessir.
Col. Faust: Right, we are not in Vietnam anymore, gentlemen. We are somewhere else.
Sgt. Wilkerson: Tell me about it, Marty just shot a unicorn! Over.
Col. Faust: Hm. Didn't think that would be on our company's list of collateral damage. Is it still alive?
Sgt. Wilkerson: Yes sir, it was just a flesh wound. Over.
Col. Faust: Bring it over here. Let's find out just where we are.

I were going to tell you to add almost everything anypony have said in this thread for the last few pages, but rather than listing all those post I'm just going to say "Awesome! Now add in almost every idea that has appeared in this thread for different things over the last few pages!"!

My personal motto for this venture is going to be "Go at it like a Bruce Campbell movie: just make it as awesome as possible, only research when you really have to, and use Hollywood versions of anything you can find, apart from the source material."

Damn. That, right there, is why I keep saying I'm no good with drawing. Even if I can make the lines and designs, making the image so effective through shading and effects is just way too far beyond me.

That's not to mention I'd never manage to come up with a piece like that.

Same here.  It's one thing to be able to draw, it's another entirely to be able to compose an emotional piece like that.  There's so much that goes into that sort of pic that I'm no good at...

You're writing another 40k crossover?!

While I'm going to use Dsarker's excuse for myself as well, after reading through the last few pages I'm starting to regret crossing ponies with 40K, even if it's not the currently stock ponies = Imperium.  I really should have joined the fandom a year ago, at least then the idea wouldn't have been done to death already.  Ah well, I've invested this much effort into it, guess I'll stick with it for a while and see how it goes anyway.

I kind of wish that I'd have just done something with just ponies at war in it.  Having read very little of the fanfiction, I'm guessing that's been done 1000 ways too though.
