Turn 22

Ok, this is probably the most purty turn I've done :D anyway in answer to areyoua's concerns there are measures in place to prevent meta-gaming but obviously these aren't perfect, I'd probably prefer you didn't head down either of your route's though simply in the interests of keeping this game as fun as possible. Obviously I don't want to enforce this so I'm just giving advice but yeah, the odds are stacked against you and the game is going to keep getting harder and harder as the story plays out so you guys will have to get smarter if you want to survive the next blows.



Date: 22nd February 2786 11 PM

Everyone stands around clumsily not really knowing what to say with a large audience staring at them, Adwarf speaks for them in the end "I will stand, and fight with you against whatever comes no matter what obstacle it is, and I will no longer allow those who remain in this world be crushed under the foot of those looking to exploit them. I will stand, and fight to the last breath, only death will stop me." A few people nod supportively in his direction, Mason talks a bit more and people soon disperse to prepare for the inevitable.

As the sun sets Pyro converses with Mason "To be honest I don't know what our odds are, they've got an air fleet just as capable as ours, if not better, I received word from them earlier they want to rendezvous with us tomorrow at 1400 hours, presumably to launch the assault against the bandits they fabricated, that's going to be our best time to strike, if we can have the fleet in the air as they approach and fire the first shot we'll hopefully gain the advantage, from there though our firing capacity is going to be greatly reduced and I'll be relying on you and the others to fight on foot and in the air."

"I want you to choose three men to help in the assault in your aircraft and another to accompany Jack who will be riding in one of our blimps, whilst the others try to destabilize Abu Merci by sabotaging the balloons and propellers I want you too infiltrate their command center and attempt to gain control of the habitat and demand surrender before returning back, with any luck as those drones have helped us once they'll do the same again. After that well, maybe it'll be time to part ways" Mason stood up and picked up a strange looking device from behind him, "If you succeed this will be your reward. Old tech, this button here when pressed releases a kind of shock-wave, it fries up old tech within a radius of about ten meters, apparently it used to be known as an EMP." The meeting concludes and before heading down to Hope you look through your binoculars at Abu Merci, it almost looks serene there hanging in the sky but a thought lingers in your head - in less than twenty-four hours it will become a battleground.

It's just a few hours after the meeting and all the members of Hope are aboard, some arguing takes place but no more than usual, for the most part everyone is just stressed. Zako nervously tries to open a drone up from behind a bullet-proof screen one of the eingereers aboard Machu Pichu let him borrow, after opening it and engaging the firing mechanism Zako began to probe the machine's insides. Opening what he thought was the drone's battery pack laughs, "Hah, no wonder they always bloody short-circuit, there's so little scarcium in here I doubt these things could operate for more than a couple of days" other than that though Zako can't make heads or tails of the drones innards, coming to a decision for what is to be done tomorrow seems to be the most pressing issue on everybody's mind.

I still vote we take the harpoon and fix it on the Jenny Haniver (why is it named that way?). With a length of rope, it'll make the perfect boarding weapon. I also volunteer to be part of the commando. I WANT that airships.

P.S. They've got airplanes, so they're going to rip through blimps. We should find a position in the middle of the wave.

I'll take that into consideration. Consider that means being with me or Jack. The other team is standard combat.

"Everyone get to your battle stations. Boarding squad grab any gear you need now, because a return trip for more is out of the question. Finally Areyoua report to the engine room please." Adwarf said as the intercoms blared, and all Hope's inhabitants could hear. After that Adwarf turned, and began fiddling with the controls.

Check the system to see how far, and how fast I can push Hope without harming her.

Adwarf, nobody has specific stations yet. And I was considering you being part of my team. >:(

I think it would be a good idea to have at least one of you grease monkeys with me.

Areyoua has a specific job, I'll post it on the roster when I finish that.

I need to stay aboard I am Hope's mechanic not a battle engineer. Though Zako could go, as for stations I mean where ever the others want to go, or are supposed to go as their job for that.

Adwarf, what exactly is your plan because I was hoping to start the battle next turn as in pause at all the ships in the air and 1st shot has just impacted
My plan is to drag Abu Merci to the ground where it will be near useless.

So Harpoon it and then drag it to the ground? Could work. Even if it doesn't, we can send pixels up the ropes to attack them from beneath.

Didn't plan to of course if i had more time I could make it a sure thing by rigging some stationed Harpoon turrets around the battlefield we could bring her down. With the help of Hope's engine it would be a sure fire thing. Of course that is my secondary plan, and would cost more resources than we currently have though it would make the battle far easier.

My current plan is to push Hope to her limits, get behind Abu Merci, and drive it in the same direction Abu Merci is going. Once in front we would push her as far as possible, and shoot the harpoon which would begin dragging her down as we reel it in, and drive forward.


@ Pyro - Damnit run this stuff by me when you remake Hope, and why the heck would you make it a fixed position gun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Ashton - Its still doable though we will have to adjust the gun, and Hope's armor to do, so.

Except it doesn't help capturing it, which is our mission. I'd rather have the Hope provide fire support (especially against those airplanes) and then have a boarding party climbing on the harpoon.
